Another spam attack hit DDO last night, affecting all forums. This is even with the captcha system in place. I was refreshing the site a few minutes ago when I got an all-white page with small text saying: "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred." This is pretty odd, because even at the spam's worst points, I never saw that page come up. I wonder if the server is actually messed up, or if Juggle temporarily shut down the site to do work on it. Whatever the reason, this site is more important for our online debating community in the short term than it seemed to be when Juggle did mass deletions yesterday.
DDO in bad shape again

I am not sure how they could go around the captcha, as far as I understand, it's rather complicated to do, you either need to hire lots of Indians that would solve it for you (it works for some captchas at least) or apply some complicated algorithms to solve it automatically but if it's possible, then this captcha is not worth anything.
Now's the time for any DDO holdouts to come over here, at least for the time being, I think.

Before the internal server error occurred, at a glance it was like there wasn't even a captcha added.
It's just gone back up.
Weird, my account is closed. And I went checking around other accounts, and other accounts are closed.
It looks like every account that's been recently active has been automatically closed on DDO.

Yeah, this is weird and messed up...
Hopefully it just a short time period...
I also glad I'm not the only one..

@Nd24007
Even Airmax's personal has been affected.
Weirdly enough, RM's account is the only recently active one I've seen that has not been affected.
Well, my guess would be that the code base that they have is a mess or that nobody is simply familiar with it so they fix one thing and break 2 more, I've been there and I wish them good luck, that's exactly the kind of tasks that make programmers unhappy :(

This is very odd..
Do u think he has something to do with this?

It's a hell of a coincidence. I think it's still more likely Juggle caught members as collateral damage to their work.

They made mistakes. First, they should know that the mole is is member. Hari even bragged about his Indians he had called off for the sites brief respite. I don't think he controls them, but he is their way in. They should have deleted the hari account. (And his sockpuppets)
Second, people who stayed logged in all the time, did not need to do the captcha. They had permanent access. Till today I could access the site without having to do any captcha.
They need a web admin. Either bite the bullet and get it done, or give up on the domain for now. Bots lose interest after some time. But closing all accounts means they finally are serious about fixing the spam problem.
And now there are mass bans. RM is probably behind it,

You could be right on this predictions.....
sadness :(

Sad day.
However, this site is very promising as actually has an owner who is invested in the site.

@SamStevens
Indeed. If DDO continues to sink, then I think it's best if we direct some or most of our attention to making this site better.

@1harderthanyouthink
I think its time we start saving debates and threads.

@Earth
There was some movement to do that before. I think Mikal suggested it, if my memory holds. But yeah, whatever you need to keep, go look for it.
I think this technically marks my 8th temp ban from DDO now XD

@Imabench
Does it give you the "I closed my account" message or the "I am banned" message?
-->
@1harderthanyouthink
I'd say it already has sunk to the bottom of the ocean. It's literally submerged in a sea of spam and poor ownership.
-->
@Earth
I think 'account has been closed' means banned and 'account is no longer active' means it was self-deactivated
-->
@Imabench
That's it. So is this Juggle's doing?
In retrospect, I can't think of a better way for Juggle to show that they have absolutely no idea how to properly manage their own website barely a day after shutting down the biggest spamming attack in DDO history then to ban Airmax's account on ACCIDENT.
The meme's for this create themselves

@Imabench
And they ban like 90%+ of the posters.

@Imabench
"I think 'account has been closed' means banned and 'account is no longer active' means it was self-deactivated"
That is true
Some people are still active and posting though... You think shilling for people to migrate here had something to do with the bans?
-->
@triangle.128k
They banned like everyone
