Many of you probably won't recognize this account. I had to dig back through The WayBack Machine to find his account, but I still remember my debate against Ajab and the discussions we had all those years ago. He's also one of only a handful of people that I stayed in contact with well after leaving DDO. We spoke with some regularity, despite the fact that he lived in Pakistan, half a world away.

Unfortunately, that ended early this morning when he died. I know his death hit me hard - he was in his mid-20's, and while that alone is a tragedy, he was also a person who had been through a lot in his life and persevered, someone who was thoughtful and passionate, loving and caring. I won't go into details about his death, but his family and friends will miss him dearly. For everyone who knew him or wishes they could have, we are all affected by this loss. Rest in peace.

I may not know of Ajab, but he does sound like he was a great man.

He will never be forgotten and his memory shall live on through DART.

I resent his views but anyone dying at that age is a tragedy unless they did something terrible. He was a heavily anti-Israel and anti-West Islamic propagandist and I knew him as Ajabi, not Ajab, since he had 2 account and Ajabi was the one he socialised with more or something.

I knew he had some kind of illness/condition that made it dangerous for him to put any strain on his heart (even walking fast could be dangerous for him). He is either in Islamic heaven, is nothing or is very unhappy with his afterlife since he was 100% sure about Islam. Hopefully, he finds a way to rest in peace if he was wrong and there is another kind of afterlife.

We are all the victims of our own circumstances.

That is a real tragedy. I had the chance to start a debate with Ajab many years ago, although it ended up not transpiring in full (one of us forfeited). I'm really sorry to hear about his passing.

I do remember Ajabi from the original DDO. I never gotten the chance to speak with him, other than hangouts. But it is a tragedy. We have lost a few great people we have came to call friends, even family :(

Words cannot capture the tragedy of a young person's suicide.

Ajab was one of us.  And now he is gone.

Ajab was just another person doing similar stuff to people who do similar stuff.

Though my condolences to anyone who looses a loved one.

Which happens approximately 3.85 times every second.

I’m so sorry to hear this, whiteflame. I haven’t talked to Ajab in a long time and we weren’t very close when he was active but I do know that numerous people tried to help him over the years. It goes without saying but is still needs to be said that there’s nothing more you could’ve done. Rest in peace

I appreciate that, thett. This community has meant a great deal to me over the years, even as members leave it. That we've endured tragedies like this at all, let alone more than once, is at once depressing and heartening. I've received support from people on DebateArt and those who left debate behind ages ago, and thankfully, I have lifelines in my life who can help me through this.

The short answer is Facebook. The long answer would require me to provide more info publicly than I'd like.

RIP Ajabi. He was a very intelligent young man, and very kind. I never had a bad experience with him. I hope he rests well and I am so sorry for this tragedy...

I'm sorry for your loss Whiteflame. This is very sad news... Mikal just informed me on fb of his passing. I was pretty close to him on DDO, and we also kept in touch over the years through facebook messenger, but not to the extent you did. Regardless of any difference in views on certain topics, he was always a thoughtful, caring, and genuine young man. He was dealt a tough hand in life with his physical ailments, but our world indeed lost a good one with his passing. May he finally be at peace and his family find strength in this time of loss.

I really appreciate that, GP. It's been a big help to be able to turn to this community at a time like this and find so much support.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend.

I didn’t have the pleasure of ever speaking to him, and I can’t imagine how devastating it is for you and his family to lose a bright mind and strong person at such a young age.
