“Haley made her announcement in a 3½-minute video released online, in which she declares, “It’s time for a new generation of leadership.” The video emphasizes Haley’s gender and her family’s immigrant roots”

Did she forget that Republicans don’t particularly care for women or immigrants?

“I don’t put up with bullies, and when you kick back, it hurts them more if you’re wearing heels,” she says.

So cute

Trump on Haley

“Well, every time she criticizes me, she uncriticizes me about 15 minutes later,” Trump told Vanity Fair in a story published in 2021. “I guess she gets the base.”

Well, she certainly speaks out of both sides of her mouth when it comes to Trump.

“I was a Brown girl in a Black and White world. We faced discrimination and hardship, but my parents never gave in to grievance and hate,” she said in an address to the Republican National Convention in 2020.

Haley declares there is discrimination in America for people of color.

So do you still like Trump... or could you be convinced to prefer a woman?

What does this mean?

Let me ask you this, have you ever been with a woman? I mean besides your mother.

I expect she's running for vice president. She doesn't have enough support to win, but she might have enough to prevent DeSantis from beating Trump. Trump might pick her as VP for the same reasons he picked Pence.

She smart enough not to make the same mistake twice with Trump.

Trump ruined Pence’s reputation and political career.

Not quite. Pence ruined his reputation by turning on Trump after staying loyal for 4 years. Haley is cynical enough that she returned to Trump's fold once it became obvious that the Republicans wouldn't abandon him.

Haley is a 5%er.

I suspect everyone will drop out after Iowa and New Hampshire in hopes of being Ron’s VP

What did Pence do that indicates he turned on Trump?

He counted the electoral votes in states that Trump claimed he won. That was enough to get him called a traitor by Trump's most hardcore supporters.

Because he didn’t lie, cheat, and violate the constitution for a moron to cling to power like we were some kind of banana republic?
Trump was lying. You Trumpers are sick, sick SOBs

I think Haley is the strongest candidate the GOP has to put forward in a general election, but she won’t make it through a republican primary. A not insignificant portion of the base are misogynists, and the party at large has no interest in the “hope for the future” message she’s trying to sell. This is a grievance party, the nominee will be the person the base feels most confident in to own the libs. It’s that simple.

Something I really don’t think gets talked about enough is just how remarkable it is and what it says about republican politics that insufficient loyalty is seen as a disqualifier in a politician. I remember a time when politicians were supposed to care about the people they represented more than paying back others for boosting their political careers.

There was also a time when people were more loyal to their families than they were to corrupt politicians in DC.

Before alternative facts were a thing.

Back when nobody would call an insurrectionist a patriot.

Back when racism was wrong, and telling the truth was right.

In short, before Trump.

The Constitution was subverted long before Trump, right around Wickard V Filburn.

The idea that the world began and ended with Trump is something best left for kid's books.

I consider loyalty an admirable trait in others,
Least when I'm looking for solidarity/support in them.
Or even just admiring something beautiful/admirable/respectable in others,
Even myself some days.

That trust I have in immediate family, close friends,
To meet challenges and other groups, situations in life 'with.

Though that's not to say loyalty to another group or ideal is wrong.
People are often part of 'many connected groups, ideals, conflicting loyalty.

And certainly leaders can lose loyalty from their followers,
If the leaders actions show themself unworthy.
. . .
But still, I have an admiration of people who stick by in foul weather,
Though this is not the same as blind loyalty,
Unconditional love, unconditional loyalty, spring to mind,
Though of course they 'have conditions, but they are meant as 'strong versions of their definitions.
Still,
One 'could see it as loyalty, to refuse to 'find the votes Trump wanted,
Not really going to help Trump get elected in my view, just make the situation worse,
Besides, not good for Trumps soul either. Poetically speaking.
. . .

Good as I normally use it, anyhow.
