Should produces of deepfake pornography be required to pay royalties to people they have based their imagery on? Assuming they consented to it.
Or do you think deepfake porn shouldn’t be permitted at all?

They should be arrested for fraud.
If they allow it, it is fine, but if it is not of consent, then the punishment should be equivalent to that of fraud.
And yes, a moderation mechanism should be used. As long as it is made without proper consent it should be taken down and the account banned, probably permanently.

People with specialised computer programs are now able to replace a persons face with another, to put it simply. So say there’s a porn scene, a guy can take that footage and replace the original features of the participants with another’s. Expressions still stay the same depending how much the computer was trained on the new face.
Famous people are the obvious targets of this sort of stuff, but anyone can have it done to them.

There’s also deepfake voices as well where you can train a program on a persons voice. When done you can type something and the voice will say anything you write. It’s become really realistic in the past couple of years.

If someone consents to their imagery being used in deepfake pornography, I can see an argument for them receiving royalties. It's their likeness being used to generate income, so it would seem fair to share the profits. However, consent is a slippery slope in this context because it needs to be ongoing and fully informed, and one has to wonder how explicit and specific that consent should be for it to be valid.
In my opinion, if the technology exists and it's going to be used regardless, then regulations should be put in place to minimize harm. I prefer real leaknudes either way, so the deepfake stuff does not really bother me. The real women are always better.
