But, srsly, I am never happy to ban anyone or to see anyone banned. Every ban deprives a user (to some degree) of their ability to enjoy the site, something I can empathize with as being incredibly frustrating and perhaps even isolating. I also understand that every ban has the potential to cause a shitstorm, that bans may force otherwise good users to endure a certain degree of ignominy and/or inconvenience, and that they interfere with each users potential to contribute to the site. Plus, they make me feel mean. Rules, however, are rules, and I do my best to enforce them fairly and accurately, including when doing so calls for a ban. In this case, Castin decided on the course of action, but it doesn't change my overall feeling.

Idgaf about the ban. I actually advocated for considering not to ban him, and haven't requested a ban. I do however, agree that actions like this should be met with both physical and social repercussions, and that the issue of doxxing (one which the user in question has apparently engaged in multiple times) should be one we work to counter. I do not condone this type of toxic behavior and it should be discussed.
You may have made a simple joke, but I figured I would clear the air for everyone else. I didn't WANT him banned, but I am also not against it.

I feel bad talking a whole lot about a guy who isn't here, or at least won't be here for a few more days. But like bish, I feel mean recommending even temp bans. And, y'know, there's the small matter that being the frowning authority goes against my nature and every atom of my being. I'm one of those personalities that sort of thrives on friendliness and humor, and I hate to be the bad guy -- and when you hand out a punishment to someone, you're the bad guy to them. That's how it works. Ugh.
