With Trump’s tax returns becoming available it has been revealed that Trump (and likely other wealthy people) pay a pittance in Federal Income tax.

His tax rate for 2018 was a ridiculous 4 percent! Four Percent! Yes, that’s right 4 percent. In 2019, his tax rate was 3 percent! But wait, it gets better - in both 2017 and 2020, Trump paid zero dollars in Federal income tax! Yeah America! Great job Republicans! Way to think Republican voters!

…in 2018, as he reported $24.3 million in adjusted gross income and paid nearly $1 million in federal tax…

“Mr. Trump’s 2019 tax returns show that he was in the black the following year as well, reporting $4.4 million in income and paying $133,445 in tax”

The fresh details of Mr. Trump’s taxes emerged from two reports released late Tuesday by the House Ways and Means Committee.

Biden is smart?

Guess you have to be pretty smart as the son of a used car salesman to sugarcoat the BS sold over the past 2 years.

Well, at least it's not too hard to fool the blue no matter who crowd. I'd say average intelligence for that feat.

As your favorite philosopher Mencken said, "Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under"

I will assume you are a decent man and don't support the current BS.

Miracle and quack products have literally built an entire industry by finding its most gullible consumers on right wing networks. Advertisers are well aware of this phenomenon and cater their message with this knowledge.

But sure, it’s the blue voters who are easy to fool. Whatever reality is most comfortable, just repeat it three times and it will be so.

The smart move would have been to not have voted at all.

I don't hear you supporting Biden either, but I will bet you voted for him.

How taxes work? Right now they work to move money from the middle to the poor and the wealthy.

You would think the American people prefer to move money from the wealthy to the poor but that’s not what we do. Republicans want to move it from the middle to the ends.  That’s why I have a 18% effective federal income tax rate, Romney has a 13% rate and Trump cheats and pays nothing or next to nothing.

You had a trifecta in Congress for 2 years. Why didn’t you change. Trump acknowledged this against Hillary in 2016 if you remember. Wealthy pay Democrats too lol

I didn't say that. I said the blue no matter who crowd.
Blue no matter who is a response to the nomination of Donald Trump as the republican candidate. There is no possible way the democrats could do worse than the bafflingly dangerous ignorant narcissistic manchild they were up against, so it was a common sense position. Nothing about that suggests this group is easy to fool.

Everything with you is deflection.

The fact that democratic politicians do not fight as hard as they should to fix the problems within our tax code does not validate your position against the changes progressives are calling for.

I disagree. There have been a hell of a lot of lemons on the ballot with a D before Trump that had significant support with very little campaigning.

Blue no matter who didn't  start in 2016 and end in 2020.

It wasn’t prevalent enough before Trump to warrant discussion on it, especially in the final days of 2022, so this sounds like a particularly disingenuous escape.

I'm not claiming blue no matter who is a large group. Perhaps around 25% of Biden's base is the floor for his approval ratings regardless of any neo-lib agenda he rams through.

Everyone knows the tax laws will always benefit the rich because they fund politicians. The difference is that the GOP did something to benefit the middle class too with tax cuts, while Dems just sit there arguing their pronouns

Giving the middle class a few dollars while blowing up the deficit with tax cuts for the wealthy does NOT help the middle class. Ending personal exemptions was terrible policy for middle class taxpayers with children, it completely wiped out the doubling of the standard deduction.

It harmed middle class people in Blue States who get taxed to death already lol.

I still don’t see Democrats supporting a tax cut for a vast majority of the middle class though

The 10,000 dollar SALT Capwas a deliberate attempt to raise taxes on states that will never vote Republican for President. You know it and I know it. That’s why I propose a tax increase on landowners i.e. rural people , just to even things out. A federal per acre tax on land over 1 acre.

Kinda weird Democrats create SALT to avoid taxes. Thought Democrats loved to pay extra taxes. To set an example of course.
