Any given idiot can be and probably is a big Trump supporter. What distinguishes Rhodes is that he represents the core heart and soul of the Republican party
- US Army
- Yale Law
- Ron Paul's staff
- Friend and frequent dinner guest of Rand Paul
- Clerked for Republican justicies
- Worked at Republican think tanks
- Founded Oathkeepers as an explicit reaction to a black man elected president
Stewart Rhodes was/is welcome at just about any table within the Republican Party but also was/is welcome at just about any table within the extreme right-wing extreme/anti-government/militia movement. Rhodes clearly demonstrates how these two poltical entities overlap and stay in touch with one another. Rhodes founded a number of armed militias arounds the country with the explicit intention of preventing the US Govt from declaring martial law or suspending the US Constitution. When a Republican President who wished to retain power in spite of being fired by the American people looked around for friends, Rhodes stepped up and immediately supported claims that President had the power to declare martial law under the Insurrection Act of 1807 and suspend the constitutional confirmation of the electoral vote count. That is the heart and soul of today's Republican party: fuck America, just give me power.
