A federal judge has ordered Dr. Anthony Fauci and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki to be deposed for a lawsuit that claims top officials in the Biden administration colluded with social media companies to censor debate about the COVID pandemic and The Post’s expose on the Hunter Biden laptop.
Fauci, Psaki and other other administration officials — including Surgeon General Vivek Murthy — must testify about their communications with the tech companies as part of the lawsuit brought in May by Republican attorneys general Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana.
The attorneys general sought the testimony of Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Biden, because of his high profile position and his public comments rejecting the theory that the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, as well as his claims about the efficacy of mask wearing.
“Plaintiffs urge that his comments on these important issues are relevant to the matter at hand and are further reasons why Dr. Fauci should be deposed,” US District Court Judge Terry Doughty wrote in his 28-page order issued on Friday.
“Plaintiffs assert that they should not be required to simply accept Dr. Fauci’s ‘self-serving blanket denials’ that were issued from someone other than himself at face value. The Court agrees,” Doughty, a judge in the Western District of Louisiana, wrote.
The judge added that Fauci “no doubt” engaged in communications with “high-ranking social media officials” and so far has not had to give any statements under oath.
Schmitt, who is running to represent Missouri in the US Senate, hailed Doughty’s decision.
“After finding documentation of a collusive relationship between the Biden Administration and social media companies to censor free speech, we immediately filed a motion to get these officials under oath,” he said in a statement.
“It is high time we shine a light on this censorship enterprise and force these officials to come clean to the American people, and this ruling will allow us to do just that. We’ll keep pressing for the truth,” he said.
As for Psaki, Doughty said she admitted publicly in her position as press secretary that the White House had been in touch with social media platforms.
“The major platforms have a responsibility related to the health and safety of all Americans to stop amplifying untrustworthy content, disinformation, and misinformation, especially related to COVID-19, vaccinations, and elections,” Doughty wrote, quoting Psaki during a May 2021 White House press conference.
The judge also ordered a deposition from Elvis Chan, who manages the cyber branch of the FBI’s San Francisco field office, about his communications with Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg about “censoring stories of the Hunter Biden Laptop.”
“Meta’s counsel identified Chan as the FBI agents [sic] who communicated with Facebook to suppress that story,” Doughy wrote.
The Post first wrote about Hunter Biden’s suspicious overseas business dealings in October 2020, reports that were suppressed by Facebook and Twitter because of warnings from the FBI that the information may have been planted by the Russians to discredit Joe Biden before the election.

According to Politico, the New Orleans appeals court "exhibited some skepticism about the legal theory behind the case" in its decision on Monday, and encouraged Doughty to consider the "viability" of the lawsuit before allowing depositions to continue.

Probably because it falsely claims that CDC data shows 800,000 injuries and thousands of deaths from the vaccinne when the fact is that 3 deaths have been linked to blood clotting due the the J&J vaccine and some 2,000+ other claims of non-fatal injury are under investigation. The 800,000+ number Greyparrot was promoting is the number of self-reported to CDC illnesses or injuries since vaccination. That is, if somebody self reports to the CDC that they twisted their ankle playing volleyball a year after they got vaccinated- they would be added to that 800,000 number. Using this number deliberately misleads people by three to orders of magnitude- little more than mentally ill hysterics.

A scientist insisted Wednesday that Dr. Anthony Fauci is hiding the truth about the U.S. funding of research that could shed light on the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic during the first hearing on the matter.
At issue during the Senate homeland security and governmental affairs subcommittee on emerging threats hearing is gain-of-function research, which can enhance the severity or transmissibility of existing viruses that may infect humans. Since the pandemic erupted globally in early 2020, many American suspicions have pointed to China.
Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been adamant that the National Institutes of Health did not fund gain-of-function research at a Chinese government lab.
But Dr. Richard Ebright, lab director for the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers University, told senators Wednesday that Fauci was lying.
“The statements made on repeated occasions to the public, to the press, and to policymakers by ... Dr. Fauci have been untruthful,” Ebright said. “I do not understand why those statements are being made because they are demonstrably false.”
Ebright said last year that Fauci “lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public." He told the Senate he stands by those remarks and explained in his written testimony why he believed EcoHealth Alliance, a longtime collaborator with the Chinese government lab, had indeed conducted gain-of-function research while receiving U.S. taxpayer funding.
Steven Quay, CEO of Atossa Therapeutics, argued to the Senate that COVID-19 "has three genomic regions that have the signature of synthetic biology, that is, gain-of-function research.”
Kevin Esvelt, an assistant professor at the MIT Media Lab, said he would call what the Wuhan lab was doing gain-of-function research.

This is one of the biggest betrayals of the American people in US history.
The damage that was done to the population mentally, emotionally financially & psychologically as well as many lost businesses and jobs is something I never thought I would witness in my lifetime. The censorship has to stop.
I will never forget the skewed graphs that our public health department put out that had huge red bars for cases, and down below in black were tiny bars that showed the deaths. Almost none, and those numbers were skewed. I won't forget the local nurses going on tv and pretending that footage from NYC was actually their hospital, and they were on the front lines of this huge catastrophe, and yet when I go by the hospital you can see almost no evidence of activity at all. Census at the hospitals were 30% of capacity.
I'm glad to see this lawsuit taking place...and I hope there's many more to come. My fear is that Congress will investigate this travesty with a very narrow focus on only the "Lab Leak Theory" ... which in the end, I predict, will come to a dead end in China. There's far more fruitful investigations that could be conducted on wrong doing in the US with corporate constructed mandates and crony policy. Just open any page of RFK, Jr's new book and start there.

Why is it important to determine if the virus came from a wet market in China or from the Wuhan Lab?
Even if the NIH funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. and the virus escaped from that lab, what would that mean? Whether the virus developed naturally or as a result of research, - legal, scientifically necessary research, why is this a burning question for Republicans?

[Ebright] believed EcoHealth Alliance, a longtime collaborator with the Chinese government lab, had indeed conducted gain-of-function research while receiving U.S. taxpayer funding.
Notice that Fauci and Ebright's claims are not contradicting.
- EcoHealth is the only US NGO focusing on zoonotic transfers of virus due to deforestation and human-wildlife interactions. To study such transfers at a zoonotic hotspot like Wuhan, EcoHealth must have data, which comes from samples. Obviously, the Chinese govt does not allow US scientists to travel to China and collect thier own bats and rats and pandolins and racoon dogs so EcoHealth pays people in China to do that sample collection. Since such collection obviously carries a high risk of exposure to viruses that famously, frequently jump to humans, the purpose lab in Wuhan does that collection. For five years, EcoHealth paid the $133,000/year for five years for that service. To say that transaction represent "funding" of research in Wuhan is inaccurate. Should the NIH continue to fund EcoHealth including small amounts of money paid to collect samples around Wuhan? Absolutely. The US needs such samples to create their own data and come to conclusions independent of China regarding Wuhan-centric coronaviruses. If we don't get our own samples, then China gets to monopolize the data and so monopolize the conclusions about Wuhan-centric coronaviruses like SARS and SARS2 and MERS. If you want American scientist to pursue the truth independent from China, we've got to be able to collect some fucking samples without evil polticians pretending they've discovered some sinister is going on and duping gullible idiots for political gain.
- Dr. Fauci has played an essential role in developing the the current US definition and standard for gain-of-function research. Since 2014, the NIH now makes the ultimate determination of what consistitutes "gain-of-function" research for Federal research projects and what does not. That definition only includes viruses with a proven potential for pandemic in humans. As a newly discovered bat virus that has never infected any humans, could not infect any humans, research on the WIV1 virus is not and cannot be called "gain-of-function" research using the Federal standard Fauci helped define. More generically, a non-federal definition of "gain-of-function" can be applied to much of biology. Breeding a racehorse to run faster is an example of "gain-of-function" using that term generically.
- Ebright's definition of "gain-of-function" is more expansive than the Federal standard: "Gain-of-function research of concern is defined as research activities reasonably anticipated to
increase a potential pandemic pathogen's transmissibility, pathogenesis, ability to overcome
immune response, or ability to overcome a vaccine or drug."
- Since Ebright's definition includes bats and all other animals, WIV1 does qualify as a potential pandemic pathogen althought WIV1 has not caused any actual pandemic in any species.
- When testifiying before Congress, Fauci can/must only use the US Federal definition. Ebright is at liberty to define "gain-of-function" as widely as he please.
- The US is not privy to the nature and methods of most research in Wuhan but using Ebright's definition, Wuhan almost certainly does "gain-of-function" research. And EcoHealth does pay that lab a little money for important sample collection, but...
- Since the NIH does not fund Chinese research , the NIH does not fund "gain-of-function" research in China, however many times Rand Paul repeats that lie in violation of his oath of office.

- Let's recall the plaintiff in the case joins the Federal Govt in January and the lawsuit has now served its entirely political purpose. The incoming AG has hinted that he's likely to drop most of Scmitt's wasteful show trials.

The biggest objection I have to the natural origin hypothesis is the lack of an intermediate animal with an intermediate form of COVID. It appears the jump is straight from bats to humans, with 3% part of that jump unaccounted for in terms of virus evolution. There were sick animals from the wet market, all with the same virus that spread from human hosts. Then there is the matter of the furin cleavage site that does not appear naturally in other beta coronaviruses, but is in SARS-CoV-2 and as part of gain of function research in general. I saw part of the early research on the epidemiology in Wuhan, and the pattern of spread was along rail lines in Wuhan away from the WIV and clustered around the WIV. There were no clusters where one would have expected them if there was a natural origin, as per the Senate report. I concluded in January 2020 that something was fishy.
We're going to have to be prepared for;
1. Government knowing but covering. (They view Viral Manipulation as a must)
2. Multi-Government Community. (Governments working together opposing democracy)

I'm afraid human arrogance combined with incredible destructive capacities of applied science does not bode well for this species. Bioethics is a mere afterthought for these scientists and their teams. I recall reading a bioethics book chapter that had the memorable title, "How to play God and do it Responsibly." I remember reading Doudna's Crack In Creation, and at first she experienced moments of dread and nightmares. Yet here we are, the masses utterly incurious about all of it; biosafety and biosecurity hardly codified in the US and elsewhere. And it's not just bioethics. Consider that almost daily we hear pundits, politicians and military experts opine on the considerable risk of nuclear war-- including Presiden Biden. It has become so normalized that nobody shivers at the thought nowadays. How unlike the Cold War in which I grew up (the later years of it). The way it is discussed resembles the analysis of a football game, or strategy in chess. Dull-eyed and anesthetized the masses doomscroll through all of it with only a vague awareness of just what could happen. The media mimic the gov't line nowadays (on just fighting against Russians "as long as it takes" no matter the economic or nuclear world-wide risks). They identify all who would seek diplomacy as "Putin appeasers." Same with Covid. Any suggestion that the official narrative could be wrong was suppressed for years, and even now you are ostracized for having discussions like this one. None of the natural spillover proponents will even discuss the issue, and info at government levels is shrouded in layers upon layers of secrecy. Ethics is a mere afterthought in an age of very dangerous toys, and a lot of reckless people. And to think Darpa also had a hand in this....
