Sam Harris was always my least fave of his crew.
Richard Dawkins is the wisest one, imo. Hitchens was politically wild, only religiously on point.

sam harris is too far gone - he has deviated from God and not only that, dedicated his life to steering people from God. Also, this is a clear example of a Godless man - he has no morals - he belives that democarcy can be undermined and that even if there were "corpses in his basement" which were found on the laptop, it would be better than letting republicans from getting in power.

I agree with him that there are times when dishonesty is justified.
I don't believe he understands that such a time is identical to a state of war because the only time you should not care if you can be taken at your word is when you are certain your enemy cannot be dissuaded from violating rights by words alone.
As Ben Shapiro pointed out, this fuels doubt in the election more than an infinite amount of hand waving about dominion modems.
The trust lost is lost as far as this generation is concerned, that's how trust works; hard to gain and easy to lose. To avoid civil war the only course is divestment and unprecedented transparency.

- I believe Hunter Biden's story about how his laptop was stolen in 2018. There are seven other claims of lost Hunter Biden laptops. I'm willing to believe one is the hardware stolen from Biden but definitely some claims are bogus and possibly all.
- I believe NY Times and WashPo reporting:
- a small number of emails have been confirmed by some recipients.
- No confirmed e-mails suggest any criminal activity
- Every bit of data on the studied hard drive had been copied and reloaded. Some email dates, unique host identifiers, etc had been re-written. Most of the data was added in late September 2020 (When it was in Giuliani's possession).

- I side with the 51 Trump administration Intelligence officials who composed an open letter right after the NY Post claims:
- "We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement – just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case"
- All subsequent reporting makes "tampered evidence" definite, "political disinformation on Trump's behalf" almost certain, and "Russian disinformation" likely.

Possibly. Since Eastern Ukraine has so many Russians in it right now, it's possible Hunter got scammed when asking for a political bribe.

FOLKENFLIK: Maybe. I do think you have to understand the context of the moment. Think of what happened in 2016. You had the Russian involvement in the leaking of hacked emails from Hillary Clinton and the Democrats, and that caused incredible havoc during the election season. And think, too, a bit later of the so-called Steele dossier that attracted a ton of press coverage. It was posted in full by BuzzFeed News, and it turned out that contained a lot of misinformation not about Hillary Clinton and Democrats, but about the conduct of Donald Trump.

A number of platforms tamped down on sharing of the Post's story. In the case of Twitter, not only did they try to block sharing of it, they suspended The New York Post's actual Twitter account for sharing its own article. That was a wild overreach, and even Twitter had to acknowledge that. [**]
