what happened to the 2nd part "names will never hurt me" spineless children grow up to be spineless adults, obviously.
I long wish for the days when "sticks and stones could break my bones but words can never hurt me" will be chanted in elementary school classes again.

Yes and No.
Certain ideas spoken to certain people,
Can end up as violent dangerous situations.
But the 'expressing itself is not dangerous.
Additionally, I consider a society that 'represses the ability to speak freely, to be more dangerous than many expressions of dangerous ideas.
I think that if one lets others repress dangerous ideas, it can lead to said person repressing ideas you 'didn't consider dangerous.
If it was 'really a bad dangerous idea,
Ideally it will be apparent enough the people, and enough will not follow it.
