Since nobody has outed yet or participated in the theme analysis, I will just spill the beans.
There are two possible theme splits based on what I got as my description, the fact I'm made PR due to something and the ways that the MMA martial arts would allow a minority vs majority split.
Either Town is balanced martial arts or it's martial arts that literally involve a lot of balance and mental game to them.
If it's the former, scum are potentially in Wrestling, Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo, BJJ and/or Karate (I'm aware how wide this is spread). If it's the latter, scum are potentially in Boxing, Karate, Capoiera (I know this is counterintuitive but it actually opposes balance as a priority altogether), Wrestling (same idea).
The towniest martial arts, under my understanding of the two ways the themes can be split and the way Lunatic has approached theory-crafting the theme are as follows:
- Kung Fu
- Savate
- Krav Maga
- Sambo
I have one of those four, it is not necessarily the Savate that I didn't mention before. I perhaps suggested my own one earlier to bait a CC but I realise now that it's better to conclusively say I'm in that, for later on.
The problem with the scum's martial arts is that the scummiest pair in the themes are not the same at all but it is very probable that wrestling is a scum martial art.
Let me explain now why Boxing and Karate are likely scum if balance (the literal balance and mental game) matter. Even though balance matters to both boxing-style and karate-style strike specialists, it is only important because they can't handle being thrown off balance well at all and have little capacity to un-grapple themselves when off-balance and get back up.
In Kung Fu, Savate, Krave Maga and Sambo they specialise in countergrappling techniques, meaning if your balance happens to fail you, they are very excellent at getting you back on-balance.
This is an important factor to the town martial arts no matter how he's setup the theme, based on my role vs martial art.
