Is it just dust the image processing can’t make out? I’ve seen a few images like this on Galaxy Zoo.

Here’s the website if you guys want to try for yourselves:

Ya it’s probably just dust. Galaxy is pretty clear. It’s possible that there’s an elliptical galaxy behind it on the verge of collision as well

It’s a star beside the target galaxy.

Are you asking a round earther perspective or what?

How many galaxies are there in the Universe? Currently, the observable Universe, which has a radius of 46.5 billion light-years, seems to contain at least two trillion galaxies.
Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is just one among these numerous galaxies, and it isn’t even considered a big galaxy. It stretches for 105,700 light-years in diameter and may contain at least 100 billion planets and around 400 billion stars.

Yes I know. I was specifically meaning the pixelation.

If you were interested in a flat-earther perspective, it's what we call a glitch in the Matrix's outer barriers.

I would have heard about it by now if it were true.

The pixelation is either an artifact of the CCD - for example a dead pixel, movement of the camera during a long exposure, or saturation of a CCD element or, alternatively - and most likely - a signal processing compression artifact. Like when YouTube craps out on a livestream, the image cannot be resolved correctly, leaving collections of large poor Color blocks.

What makes you think you have not heard of it and dismissed it?

By now essentially means up until now or beside now, doesn’t it?

I couldn't make out a Pixies elation.

But I could perhaps see a Dwarfs star.

Though from a flat earthers perspective, I'm sure that I could make out one of the conspiratorial elite, sprinkling fairy dust.

Is this helpful?
