This is really difficult to answer and I bet nobody has ever asked it before but there must be something that is better than everything else. So what is it then?
What is the best thing in the world?

Yes but consciousnesses is not a thing and what’s so great about it anyway because that’s just a basic instink.

A Zedku for Barnadot.
Whatty,
Dotty?
In stink,
In the sink,
On the brink,
Dinky dink,
Winky wink,
I fink,
I'm the best thing in the world.
Others.
Might not agree,
With me,
Unsurprisingly.

Definition of GOOD: benefit or advantage to someone or something.
Depends on what something is meant to be good for.
-->
@Barnardot
I suppose some might argue that Consciousness is not a thing,
And fair enough there's argument and philosophy for said viewpoint,
But I'd rather be awake than a vegetable in a hospital,
Rather 'exist, than not.
Other organisms may enjoy their senses, situations,
But I'd rather enjoy those senses, situations, with my intelligence, awareness,
Than remove bits of my brain through lobotomy, 'then enjoy them.
Full Definition of consciousness
1a: the quality or state of being aware especially of something within oneself
b: the state or fact of being conscious of an external object, state, or fact
c: AWARENESSespecially : concern for some social or political causeThe organization aims to raise the political consciousness of teenagers.
2: the state of being characterized by sensation, emotion, volition, and thought : MIND
3: the totality of conscious states of an individual
4: the normal state of conscious liferegained consciousness
5: the upper level of mental life of which the person is aware as contrasted with unconscious processes

A Zedku for Lemming.
Every-thing,
Or any-thing.
Consciousness,
Is definitely a thing.
Cus,
THING,
Is a pretty loose sort of a,
Non-specific,
THING.

@zedvictor4
Thing 'is a pretty wide word.
What is best Action, Lifestyle, Material Good, might have changed my answer,
But maybe could have used qualifier, so people don't answer food, house, steady job.

I think that Conan was saying the same as I said in my initial Zedku to Bernadot.
I am the best thing in the World.
Without me there would be nothing.
There might be you,
But that would no longer be of any significance to me.
If I had to choose only one thing it automatically comes with others "Refrigeration"

Well, much like ILikePie5's Air, and my Consciousness, Existence is one of those needed 'things, for one to be.
Though maybe some life forms can exist without air, or 'be without a higher consciousness.
They're all bit tongue in cheek answers, I think, made part in fun.
Conan 'is focused on the individual,
But his view has more to do with being better than others, crushing others for one's own benefit/enjoyment, winning.
To overanalyze Conan though,
“The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.” - Genghis Khan
Conan movie took place, aesthetically such, part of the movie, of Mongolia.
Conan's own family, tribe, were crushed, driven before Thulsa Doom, might have been some lamentations, I'd have to watch the scene.
Shortly before Conan was taken slave.
Conan blends in with groups, again warlike group he gave speech to.
Maybe he's become small minded, in the course of being a cage match animal.
Or large minded, but I like to think he's starts strong, primitive noble, and 'grows over the course of time.

Uh that's only the tip of the ice berg. The amount of things that you rely on refrigeration for without even knowing it would baffle your mind. Countless manufacturing processes could not exist without it.

Without air, we would die quicker.
I am most at peace when there's quiet. I'm not saying it has to be sound free but just quiet. I don't even want the water to be babbling too loud. Birds chirping, light breeze, stretched out either in the grass or hammock with your eyes closed with the Sun hitting you and quiet.

Nice.
Keeping you alive while killing you slowly. Two edged sword? Catch twenty two? Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't?

Two brothers slashed police officers during a crazed knife attack at a shopping centre have been jailed for a total of 18 years.
Maninder Hunjan, 26, and Parminder Hunjan, 37, launched the terrifying assault during a routine stop and search in West Bromwich in the Midlands.
Body-cam footage and CCTV captured the duo carrying out the attack while other shoppers fled on July 21 last year.
The brothers, who were both high on cannabis, pulled knives from a rucksack which contained an ‘armoury’ of weapons.
The pair’s bag was later found to contain a BB gun, a revolver, a machete, a serrated blade, a hammer, balaclavas, hammers, a smoke grenade and a Bushman’s knife
