Enough about Big Pharma. Lately I've been thinking a lot about Big Meat.

Anyone else ever think about Big Meat?

I think Meat will always be a problem. It doesn't matter how big Big Meat really is, seeing as they know how to use it.

Sometimes I feel bad about eating meat,
Sometimes I think on how animals might be mis-slaughtered or kept.
Sometimes I think there might be other food sources that are more cost efficient per effort.

Factory/Battery farming needs to end but if you were curious, Halal meat is sliced the neck open and bled out while the animal is conscious, it is necessary for their killing method.

Furthermore, it is done with the animal's head kept up, not upside down or anything, so it bleeds out slower. In Islamic cultures, animals have basically 0 rights at all so think twice before purchasing non-organic meat but also Halal meat, organic or not.

Big Meat can be nice if you're looking for a cheap meal, but there's a lot to say for Small Meat, depending on how it's handled.

Kosher meat is even crueller, if you were curious of the killing method I would say it's very similar to what I described but there even stunning or ANYTHING can't happen and other animals can witness it.

My next thread was gonna be Big Sulphates, Selfish Lovers, and the Problem of Pussy, but it got way too graphic. I think I got some good points though if only it weren't all about head.

Not a joke, I will tell you a reality of Kosher method of killing and you tell me if animals have feelings or not:

  1. Hold the cow down
  2. Cut the throat
  3. Maybe rip out a tube while you're at it and it's writhing drowning in its own blood
  4. because it's restrained and kept upside down, it can't bleed out fast as possible at all, instead it's slow as possible and going through absolute psychological hell
that's the fucking truth of kosher beef. Nothing, no stunning no nothing and they are treated like crap while alive too because in the religion, animals don't have souls.

I once nearly had a fight with a vet because he punched one of my cattle in the mouth because it kicked while he was injecting it. Bit hypocritical really, because I've done it too. Dumb animals can be frustrating. I learned though. Their faces are fucking hard.

Can you explain "mis-slaughtered" ?

Someone through mistake, accident, ill intent, or lack of knowledge,
Slaughters an animal in an incorrect, or overly cruel fashion.

This is bullshit. I don't think it is upside down. Slicing the throat is the most painless and ethical way to kill a cow, and when you buy any meat that is not kosher, it is almost always low quality shit.

Halal meat seems fine as well. The cutting of the throat means a quick death. They can only buy meat from animals who have lived a good life and are slaughtered not in view of other animals.

Although I would argue it is more humane

The first link is somebody holding a chicken. The second link is one where almost all rabbis are against shackle and hoist meat.

Did you mean conscious? Killing them while they are conscious is not any less ethical than drugging them or knocking them out, prior to slaughter

chicken should be upside down before its throat is slit. This forces it to die fast and rushes blood to its head so its unconscious rapidly while its lung has rapidly collapsed and body is in a state of sleep.

The farmers I met, enjoyed grabbing their head, and chopping it off and watching them run around.

that is not moral, the head feels like its neck and body are all burning most likely.

The running after the head is removed is because of how their nervous system is. I doubt there is any pain. I doubt they are alive while running, in any meaningful sense of the word. I did hear of a chicken surviving after having the head cut off. It stayed alive for years afterwords. Apparently some of the brain, remained on the end of the spinal cord.
