I clock in at only 65 WPM. What about the DART community?
How fast can you type?

@Dr.Franklin
On a good day 85
Just less than 40 wpm, which means I barely qualified for this last job I got
I do it while pecking
76WPM is my general average.
There's a way I can increase it that involves positioning my hands in a very rigid manner where only my fingers move.
Despite my wpm on tests being that, people who see me type (not typing while reading but typing from raw thoughts or listening) all say I am one of the fastest typists they've met in their life, even professionally. So, for me the reading and then typing is what mentally delays me in tests.

@Dr.Franklin
I can do as many as is necessary.
And it would depend a great deal upon how long the words are.
I could probably type A, quite a few times in a minute.
Whereas Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, probably a lot less.

Hunt and peck, I am terrible
Just did a test and got 125.

@Bones
That's one of the highest possible scores for a human.
Also I think 76 is my score when tests punish mistakes less severely, if they are the kind of tests that make you delayed for errors (forcing you to fix) I'm nearer to just 70 WPM even 69.
Realistically, I have zero need at all to be a faster typist so I don't care. I also insist that me reading, as opposed to typing from though, is part of the delay. I have never come across a scenario IRL where I have needed to actually be able to physically type above 73WPM so if 76WPM is my solid average on lenient tests and I get nearer to 69 WPM on harsher tests, then I just don't care.
I generally score ~97 WPM. The specific number 97 appears very commonly whenever I take typing tests, across websites.
My peak score is ~116, though I doubt I could replicate it if I tried now.
I type pretty weirdly (using my index fingers way more than any other finger). It works for me, efficiency-wise, though.

@Tejretics
Type A as many times in a minute as you can.
And I bet that you can type more than 116.
Then try it with DISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM.
And I bet that you can't type 97.
Of course,
A lot of the above is euphemistic.
And I've exceeded the necessity for such euphemy.

If you weren't aware, WPM considers an average word to be 5 characters and designed both the tests and the calculated results based on that.

@RationalMadman
How does one consider an average word?
The Rhinoceros became isolated and overwhelmingly exhausted by the incessant activities of poachers.
The Cat sat on the mat and the Dog sat on a log.

@zedvictor4
Yeah keep going, and add them and then divide.
Apprehended poachers swiftly admonished by the Tanzanian judiciary, received substantial financial penalties. Ringleaders were handed custodial sentences.
The cat got of the mat, the dog got of the log, for it was tea time.

@RationalMadman
It's not too fast - my friend got 200 for a 10 word test

whatever makes you feel better and humble... ?

>95 w/m. I can basically type as fast as most people talk.

65 WPM. My highest score was over 90 WPM.
The site I used for testing my speed was - https://www.typingtest.com/

95 on my last testing a few years ago.
I am up to around 80
52 was my score.
I am still 77wpm 76 whatever.
I am still extremely unsure I will ever need to type faster because the thing is when I think of how to word something it's basically never faster than that or when someone talks to me unless they have a ridiculously fast accent, I can correct errors from rushing pretty easy later and do my rush method where I typo now and again and am fine.

@RationalMadman
I don't care.

@zedvictor4
Do you care about the others? Wtf? I didnt @ you.

@RationalMadman
It's just boys wanting to be the quickest.
I've outgrown that sort of hormonally inspired angst.
-->
@zedvictor4
I sure don't.
To type at 125wpm or anything above 84 is to have become so fast at typing for so much effort you wasted as you cannot think of words to type that fast.
With proof, I got 93 in this typing race. It depends on luck and flow.
On more straightforward tests that force you to go for a whole minute, I average out at 77-76.
In the very next test I got 90wpm:
In other words, I can type extremely well in bursts and then slow down slightly between to pace myself.
