Vaccines: Your body, your choice.

Drugs: Your body, OUR choice.

Me: Let people decide if they want to put a vaccine in them, and let people decide if they want to put drugs in them.

If I could commit my 2nd brother into rehab against his will, I would.
I'd further argue that he ought be 'legally identified as insane at various moments, due to his state of mind at times, as well as his years of drug use, misuse, and overuse.

Vaccines and drugs are not synonymous.

(Edit)
Well, 'maybe just legally insane, when under the influence of certain drugs,
Though not so much when 'off them for a period of time.

I think what you actually mean Doc.

Is.

They want their version of a moral code.

A version that you have become conditioned to agree with.

The other side think in the the same way of course.

But slightly differently relative to their conditioned moral expectancies.

Intolerance of each other is the hypocrisy Doc.

Especially in the Land of the Free......(He laughs)

It's the Land of Us and Them now Doc.

What I'm suggesting Doc.

Is

If we tolerated each others moral expectancies.

It might solve a whole lot of unnecessary hassle.

After all no moral point of view can actually  be known to be correct.

Is there no distinction between opposing millions of people potentially being fired over a personal medical choice and opposing masses of people shooting up heroin in our communities and poisoning our kids?

Apparently not.

If we tolerated each others moral expectancies.

Any moral system that preaches tolerance is doomed to fail. Tolerance is your value. The one slowly growing in the background? Not so sure it does.

Let’s set the record straight. There is no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there is only one guaranteed way you can have peace–and you can have it in the next second–surrender.

pretty much. Goes from “it’s what we privately do in the bedroom” to “your kids must learn about it in school” to “you have to actively support my life choices”. Oh I sure hate to theorize on what comes with even more power

If your brother wants to smoke drugs and isn't harming anyone else in the process, that ought to be his right.  If he harms someone, then he gets punished for the victim producing crime, not for the drug crime.

People should be allowed to decide if they want to inject themselves with a vaccine.  People should be allowed to decide if they want to use heroin if they are living on their own.  Your body, your choice.

He is causing psychological and emotional harm to his loved ones by his actions.
He is weakening the fabric of society, by his example.
He is victimizing himself, by his poor decisions and lack of control.

I also sent a PM, that felt too emotion laced for forums,
Felt a bit anger.

You are free to ignore him if you don't want to deal with him.  My grandmother smokes and it's her body.  I don't recommend she do it, but her body, her choice.

He is weakening the fabric of society, by his example.
He is just weakening himself, by his own consent.  He isn't causing everyone else to become weaker unless they have to deal with him (you can kick him out if you want).

He is victimizing himself, by his poor decisions and lack of control.
He consents, so if he victimizes himself, that's on him.

Moreover, the drug war is worse for drug users than drugs are.

I also sent a PM, that felt too emotion laced for forums,
Felt a bit anger.
I don't understand why you're so emotional about drug legalization.  Most normal people support drug rights or don't, but they wouldn't get emotional about it unless they themselves used drugs, and even than the emotion is often minimized.

His body, his choice.  Also, your house, your choice.  You don't have to house your brother.

We disagree on responsibility, I see.
As well as ramifications of actions,

I am emotional about drug legalization, due to my experiences with my second brother, he is family, and someone I love.
Experiencing an event, tends to change an individuals perspective,
This does not mean that their new perspective is 'correct, but it has a way of obscuring other viewpoints. (Something I 'try to keep in mind)

I am my brothers keeper.

Well, each to their own then,
And each of our efforts and votes to that we believe.

I'll admit that what little I've 'heard of the American Drug War, that it sounds to have been ineffective, and worse, to have done damage in its attempt.

High amounts of drug use in society does affect me. I see no "hypocrisy" when they aren't the same thing.

Drug use causes societal decay (heroin addicts aren't model citizens in case you weren't aware).

Whether or not someone has a more mild version of the flu than they would have had they not got the vaccine? The effects on me are quite negligible.

Yep.

I know it doesn't work that way Doc.

But we've been drumming anti-fascist morals into our kids ever since WW2.

So don't start blaming the kids for the liberal morals that you and your old folk inspired Doc.
