There are some animes I like, but on the whole many of the anime tropes are kind of annoying.
Death note, berserk, one punch man, attack on titan, and dragon ball z are the only real animes I got into.

Death note, berserk, one punch man, attack on titan, and dragon ball z are the only real animes I got into.
I can't get into them but want to. I know one punch man is hilarious and I watched that. I liked the death note concept, so watched the movie and enjoyed it, but I do want to see the anime one.
Attack on titan I Don't know about, but DragonBall Z I think I have no chance of getting into. My 5 year old watches Pokémon and ninjago, so I assume it is something like that, so not enjoyable for me. Oh and he likes mini force X. Not mini force, he throws a fit if I put that on, but mini force X. I assume dragon ball is the same type of show.

Dragon ball z is probably harder to get into as an adult, watched that one mostly as a kid. But yeah if you liked one punch and death note you would probably like attack on titan. It's not a terribly long running anime either, only 3 seasons

There a lot of good animes. Good amount fall under the typical tropes too but some are really solid. I recommend Steins;Gate. Doesn't fall under some of the typical tropes in anime

I'll admit, it's mostly screechy anime female characters that drive me nuts. And some of the comedy in anime's is pretty cringe, it's rare when they can nail it. One punch man did a pretty good job of it, but still. But on the other hand anime that is too edgy is kind of cringe too. Attack on titan almost falls into the too edgy category, but I like it because it's not one of those "good guys always win" animes, the main cast of characters is constantly getting shit on. Feels more realistic.
