I think by DART's standards, my score is low.  Everyone here is writing essays in debates and I have a hard time merely reading any of it.  My score is a 520.

What does the SAT test us on?

Your from China so you wouldn't know.

The SAT tests math and reading scores from 200 to 800 and the average score is about a 500 for both, the standard deviation is about 100 and it's normally and unimodally distributed.  My math score is 690 and my reading score is about a 520.  My math score is awesome but my reading score probably sucks compared to the smart people on here.  My total is 1210.

Obviously it tests Math and English skills.

The question is... What kind of English skills does it focus on? I think it is a large possibility that the SAT doesn't tell you to write an essay supporting an extremely esoteric statement like the ones we have on here.

It's divided into reading and writing. Reading is vocabulary, reading comprehension, taking away the meaning of the story, best guess, etc.

Writing is grammar stuff

They do that, but colleges don't require it or look at the essay as much as they might do in China

One can either read or not.

Comprehension is a different matter altogether.

And grammar is largely out of the window these days.

Try learning a new language and you'll see how false your first line is.

There's levels of competency and fluency and there's dyslexia and dyspraxia on top of that.

@RatMan

You're referring to special needs individuals.

One was just making  a generalization relative to TheUnderdogs general curiosity.

If you wish to specialize , then I suggest that  you create a specific forum topic.

I don't know what my SAT reading score was.  It was around the 95th percentile.

I know, I'm embarrassed in an edgy way.
