Happy Election Day!

While polls are still up, I am encouraging you to exercise your civic right to cast a ballot. Voting matters, and is one of those civic freedoms we should value most highly. So, whoever you're voting for, please get out and vote before polls close (usually between 7 and 9pm, depending on where you live).

-Bsh

Naw. It's clear as day what's going to happen. Dems win House, Reps wins the Senate.

Also I live in a blue state.

That is retarded. I am intentionally not voting this time around because I haven't familiarized myself with local politicians in my area. Unless people have done their due diligence, they should stay away from the polls so they don't accidentally counter act the vote of somebody who did do their due diligence. These "Get out the vote" campaigns are disgusting.

Wylted, I completely and wholeheartedly actually agree with you. Unless you actually know what you're voting for and who you are voting for, you should stay home.

Honestly if we could sterilize people with autism and maybe some progressives (which is not to say they aren't interchangable) society would be far more tranquil.

My guess is that autistic people would be more likely to lean right. They are extremely logical. The left typically use the more creative hemisphere in their brain causing them to be artsy or think with their heart, even when thinking with their heart is not conducive to their goals and can in fact can have the opposite effect they desire.

People who are ultra rational are easy to turn into political allies, if they are not allies already.

So at age 23 you must be at the HFA/Asperger's level of the spectrum, correct?

I can give you a pass as I least feel people with Asperger's/HFA have the potential to be tremendously successful, but low-functioning autists being sterilized would be good for the low-functioning community, and it makes so many people's lives better. I'd rather have my hypothetical IQ of 68 autistic kid who makes dolphin noises that brings constant violence to people around him be sterilized than have 3 dolphin-noise-making auties for excuses of grandson's who do nothing but beat people up if they don't get a tub of ice cream. (These are based on real autistic people I have seen.)

Autistic people can also be emotional, though.

It was more of a jab on libs than anything.

You disagree, because you haven't studied economics. Your vote really doesn't matter. It won't effect the outcome of the election

True, but it does matter in the grand scheme of things. One drop of water certainly doesn't make a difference in an entire ocean. Same with voting. There have been interesting cases where races were tied or decided by only 1 vote.

I am confused. You want to take a jab at "libs" by taking a jab at "autists?" To do so, you are advocating for forced sterilization. Is this a Republican policy that Democrats are opposed to? I do not see a causal link between autism and liberal ideologies. People's political ideology is usually determined by a host of different factors that include but are not limited to:
1. Their parents ideology
2. The beliefs of a spouse
3. The community that someone lives in.
A NYU paper published in 2007 determined that these three factors heavily influence one's political ideology (1).

An autistic person may think differently than neuro-typical people, but they still are affected by the environmental influences just described. Moreover, people are likely to vote on issues that personally affect themselves, meaning that personal experience also motivates people to consider political decisions in a certain manner. Rational people can still disagree on political matters and hold that their position is true because ideologies are not developed or created through logic and evidence. Instead, it is molded by the values that we have come to accept, and by the experience of oneself and others.

I am not necessarily suggesting that sterilization is good or bad. That is for another thread. But I do not see autistic people leaning one way or another on the political spectrum.

People should be denied the right to have a family on account of something that they had zero choice over and which in many cases does not drastically impair their ability to live a successful, happy life?

Conservative autists would more likely be high functioning because they are sensical and distribute facts. It is the low-functioning autists I want to be sterilized.

If your IQ is under 70, yes, and to the point of you addressing that they won't be happy otherwise: Autistic people at that low of an IQ will indubitably find something else to be upset about. At that level of autism, they are so dimwitted and irrational that they cannot be successful and they cannot be pleased. Those types of people don't get jobs and still have live off their mom's welfare. These people don't contribute to society and may be too retarded to know what sterilization is. Also, their hypothetical future babies can't get mad in advance, can they? Literally nobody would be hurt by this.
The issue of overpopulation is also something to consider. One that is not entirely solved via low-functioning autism sterilization, but can begin with this kind of step.

They already sterilize people.

They put it in the foods.

They put it in the water.

They put it in your minds.

Nothing sterilizes a population like teaching kids about transgenderism while prescribing them amphetamines and getting them hooked on videogames.
