Lincoln was a racist pragmatist who betrayed his racist values for the sake of uniting the US by force and keeping his voter base happy.
He's not even close to the best in my eyes but certainly isn't among the worst. He was mediocre, a guy who had a lot of streetsmarts but very little integrity.
"Honest Abe" couldn't be further from the truth.

Obama is/was literally my favourite president so far, I think he led US incredibly well across the board despite all the BS nitpicking people have with his presidency. He took US that Bush left in shambles and did the absolute best he could so much so that Trump's fucking up of US was too powerless to undo the strong changes Obama had done (especially in terms of affirmative action and helping the poor) such that Trump appeared less bad.

How does one judge 'best?
My recommendation for how to judge best, is to place each president, in every other presidents shoes, and based on which one, would have handled the most number of presidencies 'well, wins the 'best.
