What rights do they not have?
Gay 100%
Trans should not be allowed to deny outright anyone officially asking what their biological sex at birth was. If that's agreed and can be used for officially quotas, affirmative action etc to avoid gender being confused for biological sex (such as female vs male sex quotas) then I have no ossie at all with trans people. A male-sex athlete who identifies as female is still male sex, point blank period.

@RationalMadman
To be fair, when it comes to sports and bathrooms, it should depend on biological sex.
Going to a bathroom not designed around your genitals is going to give you nothing but inconvenience. I mean, it is a bathroom, are you gonna chat in there?
Then sports. You should play with someone at your level, not playing with people that you can crush or can crush you.
-->
@Intelligence_06
actually women do chat in bathrooms much more so than men do so I'm kind of neutral on toilets, I support unisex bathrooms

@drlebronski
Good post OP. Retweet.
In reality, I support trans people's right to use bathrooms or compete in athletics of their desired gender (at a certain point in their transition), but that's a debate for another time.

its not that its a "inconvenience" its a pure disgusting invasion of privacy

Meta-analysis covering prior research on trans individuals’ performance in sports and preexisting sports policies concerning trans people
Findings show there is no consistent or direct research indicating transgender women have an unfair athletic advantage at any stage of their transition.
Additional findings show most sports policies are not evidence-based and trans individuals experience substantial discrimination from sports institutions.

@drlebronski
Hilarious, genuinely.
Remind me again why there is a sex split, it isn't just about testosterone alone.
None of this would be an issue if Trans had the right to their own bathrooms and sport classes just like males and females do.

@drlebronski
If you're going to masquerade under a new moniker, then there are certain tendencies you might want to conceal (e.g. the subjects you engage, and your proneness to reference ncbi, etc.) otherwise some might--especially I--conclude that this "hiatus" of yours was nothing more than a contrivance intended as an excuse.

@Athias
What are you talking about?
-->
@drlebronski
What are you talking about?
I won't engage you any further on this. You've already tipped your hand. I'm only informing you that I know who you are. Enjoy the rest of your day, sir.
-->
@Athias
Wtf?
-->
@Athias
Seriously what are you talking about
this is getting weird
-->
@Athias
dude.... I'm legitmately offended you would think that I'm him. Multiple people are allowed to talk about the same topic?
-->
@Athias
@drlebronski
He thinks you're my alt.
To Athias- please demonstrate your assertion bud.
-->
@Athias
Does this really strike you as my sort of argumentation?
First of all i would like to say something the estimate that historians agree on is 5.4 to 6 million deaths. do not try and say that my debate title said 6mil and didnt specify. anyways, when the nazis were about to lose the war they tried covering up as much evidence as they could-----https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/combating-holocaust-denial-evidence-of-the-holocaust-presented-at-nuremberg, https://www.history.com/news/how-the-nazis-tried-to-cover-up-their-crimes-at-auschwitzhere is a good article on how historians and researchers estimate how many people died in the holocaust. https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/documenting-numbers-of-victims-of-the-holocaust-and-nazi-persecution
Are our word patterns similar? Do we have a similar syntax? Do we actually have similar ideas or do you see "socialism, atheist, and trans rights" and you go "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - it's my enemy!!"

lol well said

@drlebronski
Gay and trans people are valid and deserve the same rights as any other american
Please be specific.
Differences in people, results in different rights.
Let's suppose you said,
Dwarfs are valid and deserve the same rights as any other American.
Well, no they don't.
If they're too short to ride a carnival ride, they aren't allowed to ride it.
Let's suppose you said,
People with color blindness are valid and deserve the same rights as any other American.
Well, no they don't.
Certain jobs 'require color vision.
Let's suppose you said,
People with bad eyesight are valid and deserve the same rights as any other American.
Well, no they don't.
You have to pass a vision test, to become a pilot in the American Air Force, as far as I know.
'Which Rights?
Please be specific.
being gay or trans is different from being blind or short they deserve the same rights as everyone else unlike being short or blind being gay doesn't make you unable to do certain things gay people deserve the right to marry a lot of people say its not part of their religion im not that familiar with the bible but im pretty sure god is supposed to be forgiving of sins and accepting. there are also plenty of christians that are gay.
-->
@drlebronski
being gay or trans is different from being blind or short
Sure, being gay or trans is different than being short or colorblind.
But being short is different from being colorblind.
being gay doesn't make you unable to do certain things
Can a gay person just 'not be gay.
Lot of people say they can't.
Thus they would be 'unable to do a certain thing.
Depending on whether you say they can or can't.
A dwarf could still 'technically ride a carnival ride that the law says they're too short for.
A colorblind individual could 'technically work a few of the jobs the law says they're not ideal for.
gay people deserve the right to marry
Well, you gave 'one right.
That they 'already currently have in America.
Though really it's semantics, marriage.
Some people insist a pencil is a pen, if they have enough influence in a country, well, then the definition of a pencil, changes to pen.
Marriage is between a single man and a single women, says some people's definition.
Other people have 'different definitions.
-->
@Theweakeredge
"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - it's my enemy!!"
That rhymes
-->
@Lemming
"Can a gay person just 'not be gay.
Lot of people say they can't."-- Indeed they cant just like someone whos straight cant be gay that does not deprive them of their rights
"Well, you gave 'one right.
That they 'already currently have in America." that's true but regardless of that Gay people face discrimination in jobs and other things
this is a good article on the subject https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2019/08/lgbtq-rights-america-arent-resolved/596287/
-->
@drlebronski
Indeed they cant - drlebronski
Then the point stands,
being gay makes you unable to do certain things.
"Well, you gave 'one right.That they 'already currently have in America." " - Lemmingthat's true - drlebronski
So give a right they 'don't have?
-->
@Lemming
"Then the point stands,
being gay makes you unable to do certain things." and being straight also makes you unable to do certain things being anything really makes you unable to do certain things this is a bad argument.
"So give a right they 'don't have?"
federal laws dont ban discrimination of LGBTQ+ and regardless of this the forum is about them deserving rights not whether they have or don't have rights but wether they deserve rights or dont deserve rights but i will probably start another forum post later specifically about that and i will go more in depth into it.
-->
@drlebronski
Being anything really makes you unable to do certain things - drlebronski
That's the argument angle I'm going for, jah.
People are not all equal, not all square pegs.
Not everyone is a hammer, not everyone is an axe.
And, if there are differences, then what one is 'able to do, or 'expected to do in society, changes.
My argument seems fine to me.
federal laws dont ban discrimination of LGBTQ+ - drlebronski
Example of discrimination, not banned by law?
regardless of this the forum is about them deserving rights - drlebronski
We don't all get the same rights.
So far as I know, a person with a suicidal history, has difficulty getting into the military, Ideally.
It's not a matter of them 'deserving the right to serve, they're simply not currently qualified, in many people's eyes.
Nothing 'specific about gays of trans, pops into my head, of rights they are deprived, hence why I ask for examples.
That's the argument angle I'm going for
Ok whether a gay person can or cant be straight then they still deserve rights...
the only thing gay person can't do that a straight person can do is marry a woman (unless you are pansexual or bisexual)
Example of discrimination, not banned by law?
If a company wont let a gay person work there because they are gay the gay person cant do anything about it if someone goes up to a gay person starts calling him slurs like F*gg*ot and other words that gay person cant do anything about it.
