How do you do the double dotted point's thing in your argument (where you have one set of dots and another one further into the page)? It looks very intimidating and I would like to try it. Oromagi absolutely pops of here with it.

  • I cant
 do it

  • for some reason

Ctrl+Shift+9 = numbers
Ctrl+Shift+8 = bullet points
Ctrl+Shift+7 = strikethrough

Also ctrl+ [ and ] works for activating and deactivating a level of quotation but you need to have multiple lines of text for it to layer the quote boxes properly.

I am very sure I am one of the only users who knows the shortcuts even now because most ignored when I made that topic and just so you know this doesn't let you properly layer how they do.

The way I am assuming Oromagi and Coal do it is they indent and/or reclick bullet point on either Microsoft Word, Google Docs or a Linux and/or Mac equivalent.

They copy and paste (not as plain text, the normal paste that  includes formatting).

There may be a shortcut for indentation that I haven't discovered.

Strikethrough doesn't work when you post the message, it's just for your own visuals while typing.

  • You can do it like this, first press the point fuction in the toolbar
    • Press Enter then Tab
      • Just like this, you can do it
  • Note if you don't press Tab
  • instead just press enter
  • It won't go further into the page
  • but it will look like this
    • Same goes
    • for already-indented lines
    • If you press enter while on an indented line
    • It will keep the same indent
      • and you can keep adding to the indent
    • Pressing Enter twice from the last line lets you go back from an indent here
  • Repeat the process, and it is here
  • No need to thank me

  • This is how I do it. No Copy-paste required.

As I have discovered this very early into the site, I thought this is common knowledge and every experienced user would have known it.

And, uh, you're welcome.

I use Intel's method.  The format evolved out of my trying to synthesize Ragnar's DART style book (which recommends alternative word processing software) with the more limited options on DART's toolbar.  I've never had much luck keeping other formats when cut & pasting so I just got into the habit of writing the whole argument out in DART.  Bulleting allows me to project a kind of outline format (and use a more sparse outlinish tone of voice which often saves word count) which helps readers follow the order of argument.  I tend towards long, run-on sentences but I've found that bulletpointing helps to break up those sentences and show which clauses are subordinate to which predicate.  There are time swhen an errant cut and paste can lead to complicated misformating that takes an unreasonable amount of effort to untangle but I generally depend on a lot of bulleting for clarity's sake.
