the problem with term limits, is that we end up with folks who dont know any thing about the government or its laws.

or, if we did have term limits, limit it to a career, like thirty years.

they say the presidency is too much power to give one person for a long time, but that doesn't apply to congress given it's not such a concentrated power

Congress should have term limits.  You shouldn't have to know the law to be in office.  You just need good ideas that people back.  Congress is curropt and they need to have term limits.

if no one understands the law, our democracy isn't functional.

who is more trustworthy.... someone who needs a team of lawyers to make our democracy functional, or someone who doesn't need a team of lawyers to make our democracy functional?

how about age limits and health examinations. You don’t want Hank Johnson up there with a mind so addled by hepatitis that he thinks Guam might “become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.” Unfit for office

I did some extended research on the idea of congressional term limits and discovered, to my surprise, ;that even without term limits, the average congressional service since 1950 is ten years, so it appears the the great majority of those in Congress leave of their own accord within a reasonable period of time. Yes, there are a few outliers who spend a career and more, but they are a small minority. Unfortunately, it tends to be the ones who should be limited, and I blame their constituents for not just voting them out when they've obviously continued running when they're too flagged to work.
