For someone who's big on moderating personal attacks and verbal misconduct, this isn't a good look. 
No, I'm not "big" on any of that, it's just a preference. I'd prefer if this website isn't akin to the Morning Kumite, but I'll oblige where necessary. The mods have made it clear that they don't care about people teeing off on each other (especially since one of them engages in such behaviour), and not to do so would put me at a disadvantage.

He hasn't insulted me. He's only attempted. I don't initiate or reciprocate insults because I'm not concerned with his feelings, which he's clearly "in" to attempt an insult over an innocuous discussion.

Clearly, you meant "insulted" as in "saying something rude".

This is why I called him obtuse lol. He'll take a statement and either give the worst, bad faith interpretation of it, or he'll engage in hyper-reductionism to the point where everything is meaningless.

The fact that he's doing it, in response to simply stating that someone insulted another, is comedy gold.
