Acting like a child is the way to go on Dart. If you attempt to make rational arguments using data, you will lose out big time on looking cool in front of your friends. Since you're unable to sit at the back of the classroom on Dart, here is a list of how to stay cool and act like a child:

1) Post Wikipedia articles as one-line responses. DO NOT make the mistake of reading the sources, or even attempting to explain the general argument you're referencing. If it's on Wikipedia, the sources it references don't matter. These are good examples of doing it correctly: https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=3&post_number=58 https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=2&post_number=36 https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=1&post_number=19

2) Use anecdotal evidence wherever possible in place of data. Better yet, spam a giant list of anecdotal evidence without explaining any of it. DO NOT make the mistake of attempting to read all the sources. Just make sure the title supports what you're saying, and then add it to the list. Remember: the bigger the list, the more da- I mean anecdotal evidence you have, which is always better than data: https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=2&post_number=41 https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=3&post_number=61  https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=1&post_number=19

3) If someone asks you to elaborate on any sources you provide to make your argument, say that it's their burden to do so. DO NOT attempt to actually read your sources, as this takes precious time away from completing your homework and playing Fornite https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5189-united-states-slaves-were-overall-treated-quite-well?page=3&post_number=56

4) Remember to look for opportunities to use vulgar language. Everyone thinks you're more intelligent if you can use abusive language. You can win an argument on the spot if you are able to shove a bunch of swearwords into your sentence https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5160-pornography-and-the-destruction-it-causes?page=2&post_number=26 https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5160-pornography-and-the-destruction-it-causes?page=2&post_number=28 https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5160-pornography-and-the-destruction-it-causes?page=2&post_number=32

Protip: become a moderator so you can abuse people, receive the report for the abuse, and just ignore it. Conflict of interest is for dumb adults.

At least you know who the clique is now.

On this site, "dick" is not a swear word, it's a term of endearment.

All fine and good. But no matter how much you don't appreciate someone, you must still abide by thesites CoC, at least it's supposed to be that way in theory. Also, we should not drag baggage from other threads around.

Question: Do you lack appreciation for him because of a personal reason, or some real thing he's done, or is doing to the site that harms or impedes its function?

He was male, and below 18. He met all their qualifications.

No Sir. He became mod before he was 18.

And he only says he's 18. He may be younger. The fact that he was chosen as a mod implies that.

admittedly I didn't like the write-up either. I supported his ban, and while his "hate speech" was a factor, it was less of a factor than others.

I just read a thread he was involved in (https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5177-at-what-point-does-the-racism-boogeyman-go-away?page=1) and while I see how people could be offended by some of the things he was saying, this is a debating website. Is this the kind of hate speech he was banned for or was there something worse (like slurs or whatever) that I havent seen?

there was once where he accused Chris of violating ToS because Chris said he was a dick for completely demolishing his point of view on pornography. Chris wanted to lay out the negative side using YT videos and Demon basically tried to crush it as if they were formal debating. Demon said it was too extreme and basically ridiculous.

That's exactly my problem with the write-up. It's based on speech that has horrid implications if drawn to its logical conclusion, yes, but those conclusions were never posited by MgtowDemon directly.

Maybe the worst thing he did on that front is say African Americans are genetically inferior to white people.

Genetic components such as lower I.Q [1][2], poor delayed gratification propensity [3], presence of the 'warrior gene' [4] etc. create this gene differential between African American and White populations, and thus one group, on average, becomes more "disadvantaged".

To put it extremely bluntly: being African American is an inherent disadvantage -- "disadvantaged status" is heritable.

Not sure if I would ban on that alone even though it is blatantly racist, simply because he has enough evidence to where it is something more than simple rabid hate speech... there are some undertones of intellectual discussion there.

In fact, if he were a guy that was mostly respectful, he probably wouldn't be banned right now. What pushed it over the edge for me is his constant pattern of toxicity.

I believe DART mods reserve the right to ban users that are a constant toxic force on the site, even if they may dodge some of the more extreme CoC violations (i.e. users who are objectively unbearable to nearly everyone on the site, and consistently lower the quality of site user experience. In the end, this website is a service, and if someone is making your service unenjoyable for everyone, that person can be booted justifiably.) This right is given here in the CoC: "The moderators retain the authority to interpret and apply all policies in the best interests of the site and users therein."

Anyway, Mgtow fits that bill all too well.

Here is what I said on the matter on Discord:
"There comes a point to where you no longer need extensive justification. MgtowDemon is objectively an insufferable asshat (you can measure this by seeing how he has zero positive interactions with anyone in the DART community other than toxic members who are already treading the line of being banned themselves) who literally no one enjoys talking to and consistently lowers the quality of experience that users have on the site. At least RatMan had his moments of friendliness. I genuinely haven't heard anything come out of his mouth that wasn't condescending or offensive."

Not to mention his tendency to violate the following in the CoC:
  • "Creating threads to call-out specific users qualifies as targeted harassment, as does obsessive attempts to derail unrelated topics with impertinent grudges."
  • "Unwarranted systemic vulgarity and invectives, which may include off topic personal attacks and/or hate speech, are subject to disciplinary actions."
He had a habit of creating call out threads targeting many users at once, and he would often inject threads with his "impertinent grudges." Note that systemic vulgarity includes off topic personal attacks, which he would inject in just about every post he made. While he wouldn't use slurs, the frequency of his systemic attacks on people rose the violation to the same level of severity.

Nah, I called him a dick because he declared my sources of TedX and a neuroscientist as too elementary for a FORUM DISCUSSION. And used that as a way to dismiss me entirely and avoid engaging in the actual discussion at hand.

He didn't "destroy" my viewpoint

The write up isn't done justice. The main reasons he was banned was for various call outs to members were a result in the ban. Granted I said that I think a perma ban was excessive and I would've done it for 5-30 days. I'm all for free speech to the extent you don't attack others on the site

Fair enough...like I said, I did not know the guy or interact with him at all. I'm just wary of people being banned for "hate speech" because that's such a nebulous concept. There are probably people who would argue that this post from me is "hate speech."  https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5177-at-what-point-does-the-racism-boogeyman-go-away?page=4&post_number=96

True that. I don't support the government regulating speech for that reason. Within the context of site moderation though, we have to draw a line somewhere...

Fmpov while I do call into question lengths and stuff in general. Mgt had broken the rules by calling out members on the site and continuously bringing up these insults. It's the same behavior and delusion that RM was suffering with his banning and post ban. While RM has been much more blunt, I think there's a thin line to draw when it comes to moderation.

In my opinion, the way moderation should function should be hands off unless there is something that is directly effecting the site. I feel Mgt ban was cutting a tumor that could grow into a bigger problem, similar to the RM problem that was happening where the mods let him slide too much. When he piles up a lot of things and keeps violating CoC, there's a point to where the mods are called out for not taking action sooner. Mgt would be a problem that kept occurring on the site because of his dislikeability, same with RM on DDO

To be fair, I don't follow much of the site ban drama anymore to an extent, but it seemed to be a popular issue I looked into it a bit. I'm taken a step back from that whole fiasco ever since this Senior year. I'm too busy with my own projects and colleges to invest time into reading drama
