what is the point of this topic? any medicine ever invented by humans can have negative side effects. That certainly includes vaccines. But they save millions upon millions of lives while harming a very few. Pointing out some of the few cases of people harmed by vaccines in no way invalidates the necessity of vaccines.

I am kinda tired of hearing about how vaccine save people because its kinda not true.it is just stated as a fact.
If polio vaccine is the sole reason for ending the spread of polio in the first world, then why hasn't polio ended in India, the Congo and other countries? There have been countless polio vaccine campaigns year after year in Africa, India etc yet we keep hearing about outbreaks, currently, India and Africa have polio outbreaks. The answer is not vaccine but sanitation. In countries that have raw sewage entering the rivers, lakes etc where people use these same waterways for drinking and cooking the disease will never die away. The money spent on vaccine is only a fraction of what it would cost to put in decent sanitation which would include sewers and sewage treatment along with providing potable safe drinking water in the third world, so, consequently, the pharma industry with a lot to lose talks about the reduction of polio via vaccine. Ergo, the myth is perpertrated.
So, Polio vaccine ending the polio outbreak in the first world? It's a completer MYTH.

Do you know what that vaccine was for? measles. Before vaccination programs in west africa, measles was causing a mortality rate of 50% of children before the age of 5. Before the vaccine millions died every year of measles. Today it is less than 100,000 per year, mostly people who didn't get vaccinated.
So it is absolutely a tragedy that those 15 children died. But if vaccine programs weren't being done in africa, there would be millions more dead children.

All this anti-science denialism really makes wonder and worry about the future of the US as a continuing enterprise.
Let's assume that present rates of lockdown, mask wearing, and infection rate continue-
- we'll probably peak at the end of February with 500-600,000 dead and perhaps 400-500,000 new daily infections
- By the end of June, when vaccines will probably become widely available, we might be looking at 700-800,000 dead with some 30 - 40 million Americans having been infected
- Let's further assume that present research bears out and it becomes widely accepted that the average covid infection knocks 10-13 off the average American's lifespan.
- Present polling suggests that only 51% of Americans consider themselves likely or very likely to get the vaccine and we will probably need a 95% vaccination rate to stop the disease's progress.
- What do we do? Most other nations have nothing like US vaccine denialism. Asian countries will likely implement mandatory vaccination and achieve herd immunity by the Fall of '21. Europe & the Americas will probably be slower but let's say they get immunity by the end of the year.
- How do we compete with immune nations? At the very least, US citizens won't be able to travel abroad and nobody will want to visit the US. How do we maintain productivity under continuing strings of lockdowns and closures and failures while the rest of world rebound?
- Do we force the anti-vaxxers to take their medicine? Do we just gently let the anti-vaxxers slip the US into a 3rd or fourth place economy with the dramatic declines in soft power that accompany such permissiveness? How do maintain competitiveness in the future as our life expectancy drops below Rwanda's or Pakistan's?

How can a unvvaccinated person give a vaccinated person a disease if they are immune.It is suppose to be 99 plus percent effective.The percentage of failure is just a technicality because nothing is 100 percent.It is like lysol kills 99.9 percent of germ .The 1 percent is there as a technicality because nothing is 100 percent.Same here.So how can unvaccinated person give you a vaccinated person a disease.If the vaccinated person is immune. I have a good article debunking this.I know this is polio but same logic apply.i do not believe vaccines have saved one life.Apparently an unvaccinated person can give the disease to vaccinated person. Clear proof they do not work.

The DTP vaccine was discontinued in the US and western nations in the 1990s following thousands of reports of death and brain damage.
this is a lie. DTP vaccines are part of the course of vaccines that are given to children today in the US. The article they link to while making the claim that the DTP vaccine was discontinued describes how they changed "from whole cell to acellular pertussis vaccines".
oh my god, it gets worse. They are using a study which looked at data from the 1980's to draw conclusions about bill gates vaccinating children 40 years later. Mogensen et al 2017, the study they are using as evidence was looking at vaccinations in 1980. But in the previous sentences, they already talked about how the DTP vaccines had changes how they were being made in the 90's, making the comparison incredibly stupid.

no, those conspiracy theories have been disproven. but people don't want to hear it. They prefer the conspiracy. So they continue to spread fake information on the internet. This causes people to doubt vaccines and not take them causing outbreaks of preventable disease that kill people. These conspiracy theories get people killed.

I don't think the question follows my concern but yes, with any disease vaccinated people can be carriers. If 50% of Americans don't get a vaccine the main source of infection will be other vaccine deniers.
No vaccine is 100% effective. Pfizer is claiming their covid vaccine will be 90% effective, Moderna is claiming 94.5 effective.
A vaccine gives the immune system antibodies for the disease but some disease can last for a long time in and on the human body without infecting the host. Covid can last for many hours on human skin, saliva, etc.
We don't know how long immunity lasts but we have definitely documented cases of people getting infected again after 4 months. Even if the average immunity is a year we'll likely a lot of transmission at the margins if we haven't achieved herd immunity.
