@Ramshutu
So the idea is to basically create a whole concept of "anti" medals, which are given for the achievements in the opposite direction? ^_^

Quick thing on these awards: It's not like celebrating Bill's (or various others) contributions would be at the expense of anyone else's.

I would suggest a new class of medal: “Brown” medals.
We should not have medals which are themselves an insult to their awardees.

A more serious suggestion:

I really like the recent addition of vote window closing icon, so two related things:
1. Could we get a forfeiture icon as well? Skimming through a lot of old debates recently, and I think the utility of it would be very well high for the investment (especially since the main functionality already seems to be in place).
2. Could said icons be made visible on the user debate list pages? (likely not, but I figured I would ask)

Given the current setup, one way to compliment this would be making it akin to the unrated icon, which already displays in both locations.

I suggest some minor forum consolidation (at least if it's click and drag level easy).

Movies and TV

Art, Fashion, and Music (the top two threads in art are about music anyway)

Society and People (perhaps also changing People to Famous People or Celebrities to which the it has the definition of celebrities)

Nature and Science

Technology and Cars (I know cars are already a technology, but it has it's own forum with only 8 threads... Maybe just a Tech forum with Cars listed in the description?)

Personal, I would just change the description to be "Topics related to any personal issues and Ask Me Anythings" (adding the AMA bit on the end, to end confusion about where those belong). I would also move this to the second place (I believe this would decrease the amount of erroneous stuff that ends up on the main forum)

Miscellaneous should be at the bottom.

This topic has been brought up multiple times and I will do it at some point, it's just not as urgent as some other issues so it gets postponed. Also it could bring some SEO issues but I guess nothing serious. Anyway, I will get create a new topic and ping you there when I start working on it so that we could all decide what goes where and what new categories need to be created.

I don't think I will go this route. Not only it can bring security issues, it will also make code easy to steal and all that. And I highly doubt people would be willing to work on it, it's a small hobby project written in a language that many devs never heard about. I can't collect enough donations to cover the hosting expenses and expecting people to work on the open sourced code is even less realistic, especially considering that not everyone is a developer.

It's a personalized short string of text which appears under every post a user makes, you can put quotes or whatnot in it. DDO restricted it to 500 characters.

Oooh signatures, it's a tricky one, I am not yet sold on the whole idea. It creates lots of visual garbage and makes things more difficult to read, in my opinion. We'll need to create a topic on this subject to see what the other folks think about it.

I would need to check if the rich editor library that I use supports this stuff. If it does, then it's doable, if it doesn't then that would be a pain in the ass.

Can you explain the profile image changes?

More specifically will it accept larger image sizes or is the resolution just increased?

Yeah sure, so how it was before:

User uploads an image and it gets shrunk to 140x140px, which is the biggest size used on the website ( on the profile page )

The problem with it is that this image would look kinda blurry on MacBooks and other fancy devices that have a higher pixels density. In order to fix that, that image should be at least 280x280 to be sharp.

So what happens now is that all the new uploaded avatars get shrunk to 400x400 instead of 140x140 and a result, look way more sharper on those devices.

The bottom line is that the only change that may affect the users is that the min size for the avatar image moved from 140x140 to 400x400.

Does it still stand? I am not sure if that's what you are looking for but on your main profile page, there is `General stats` block and it has a number of total questions answered.
