If a game about fictional characters and guessing the bad guys can post more than some of the most controversial topics in belief, then there is something serious going on here.
8 of the top 10 frequent posters are mafia players, 2 are religious arguers

The very nature of mafia requires a high volume of posts. In any case, though, the statistics are worse. The only reason I'm in the top 10 right now was because I was in a mafia game a few days ago, and the system hasn't caught up to the fact that I'm only making a few posts a day right now. As an example, Lunatic's Pattern account was in the Top 10 for several days after it was locked. Thus, it's more like 8 mafia players to 1 religious arguer.

I would suggest that it is simply a case of who uses D'art and for what purpose and by what means....And certainly, not be taken too seriously.
Age and social conditioning has a lot to do with it.

quality forum debates shouldn't compare to mafia games in post volume. If they do, they're likely devolving into low quality flame wars and spam.

Nonetheless, a game about fictional characters and guessing the bad guys, sounds like religious arguing to me.
