For me its the ps5 cuz of its games lineup an halo getting delayed
both consoles look great an it seems like both are gonna have lots to offer

why?
I prefer pc. PC can do other things. Install mods easily, play with chat, or even watch youtube. It is much harder on consoles.
I'm going to second Intelligence. You can get a PC with comparable performance and high upgradability for similar price. Games are cheaper for PC, and you can install endless mods and do much much more. For the single player experience, PC is unbeatable.
For large groups though... Maybe a Nintendo Switch with Smash

Exclusives and local multiplayer. Although, Microsoft seems to be porting exclusives to PC now. So, the only real exclusives you'd be missing out on are PS5 and Nintendo exclusives. I usually just watch Let's Plays of PS4/5 exclusives, but if you really want to have the game I suppose you could buy a console for it.
For me, exclusives aren't enough of an incentive to warrant getting a console. Might be for others, though.
Now, local multiplayer is a pretty big incentive if you're like me. You want to be able to get the gang together and play. Nintendo is best for that. Unbeatable party games. As for online multiplayer, PC is unparalleled (of course, besides the occasional hacker).
So for me it just boils down to if you want to be able to have a console party or not.
Buy PC
More games
Emulation
Steam, Epic, GOG
Ability to improve on it
Whenever something doesn't meet the required hardware you can change it
Ability to increase how long you can enjoy a game for
Mods
If your friends are going to get a console then there is no point listening to what I said above unless you can persuade them to buy a PC

PC's are the best, but if I had to choose between the consoles I would go with the ps5. Despite this, I am unenthused by both consoles.
