sao? sao? are you like making a bad joke right now? cause joking about sao isn't even funny. the level of pure garbage it was actually made me want to die, i don't even know why i finished it. the incest, the bland characters, the unmemorable characters, the extremely unneeded rape scenes, the laughable plot, all of it was so bad. maybe it had some good fighting scenes? other than that it was just an extremely generic isekai, leaning on the bad side. ok sorry if that was offensive, didn't mean to offend anyone but whew whee sao was trash.

premise was good, noelle was not.
for recommendations i think bungou stray dogs and full metal alchemist are pretty good. i think bungou stray dogs leans more towards seinen but eh.

SAO might not've been THAT good, but I haven't seen much anime so it still made the list. The more I watch the lower it will get probably. I really enjoyed it right up until the incest regardless

First anime I ever watched as an adult was Code Geass. 100% NOT a Shonen but still worth a watch.

it counts, as long as it's published in a shounen magazine it's shounen. the promised neverland has like zero fight scenes but was published in like shounen jump or something so it counts. aot was published in the bessatsu shounen magazine apparently so it also counts.

The problem is: The shounen magazines WILL NOT put hentai in there. I believe you have committed a fallacy. This is like saying "Oh, because this guy can cook a wide variety of food and make them delicious, thus he should try cooking paper, baskets and iridium!" Noting something that just WOULD NOT HAPPEN and use it as an example is absurd. There are reasons why Attack on Titan was made a shonen but hentai is not.

Well, yes and no. If the form of cartoons is just about its medium, then the broad will go broader and broader eventually it will be no longer its original purpose. Replace one piece after another in a ship model and soon enough you will find that this ship model isn’t itself anymore.
