What browsers do you guys use. I currently am using Brave, and Opera GX.

I use duckduckgo and google as my search engines.

Opera has built in VPN which is really convenient, but Brave has built in Tor which is convenient as well.

Opera's 'built in VPN' is about as secure and private as your neighbour peeping in your window and then offering you a curtain that they can pull aside as and when they please.

Go with a solid company, Opera isn't trustworthy enough.

The internet is  what the name implies and  also is what it has become.... And an assumption that a niche provider can offer a better service is typical of the human desire to be  special or be seen to be special.

Mines an "Artisan Beer" please.

Now, this site is biased (it most likely gets sponsored by the ones it ranks top 3, this is a major issue with VPN rankers in general) but this is so accurate that biased or not, it tells you the bare truth. You literally couldn't have a worse VPN. It doesn't encrypt your data. What I am telling you is that your ISP literally sees you send the data to the proxy server of Opera's choosing and sees the data come back to you. On top of that, Opera is not just being a browser, they are now able to log everything you did while using their browser because you're letting them function as your proxy ISP.

It is actually an increased risk, not privacy-enhancing benefit, to use the 'Opera VPN' while browsing. They literally admit that they log everything you do (and I mean everything, you saving it to your history means nothing).

Google cause I don't really care about my privacy that much. I mean, I don't really care if you sell my data, it's contributing to the good of society right?

It's contributing to the 'good' of advertising companies and Google. NSA also uses that advertising profile to help form psychological profiles of you.

The only free VPN that explains how it sells and uses your data is the free variant of Hotspot Shield VPN. It's a very noble thing they're doing, your usage data gets namelessly, agelessly etc sold to advertisers and the ads appear on a banner as you use the free version.

Your advertising profile itself is also aggregated and anonymised, you see what most users of the free version imply they want to buy based on usage.

There is no such thing as a truly good free VPN, their functionality is always very inferior to paid. HSS has the barrier of some amount of MB per 24-48hours (not sure of their current free deal). The encryption is genuine, it's the only free VPN I'd ever recommend.

You should not use a VPN until you are 18. I still believe that it is impossible to answer your question without lying or misleading if I refuse to name the best one for it.

I said that for others reading this who may not be over 18. I recommend a paid VPN service if you're 26 and seriously care about privacy. I have a thread or two on DART, discussing them.

HSS is still trustworthy, it just lacks in smoothness of use and stuff. I recommend NordVPN or ExpressVPN (rip off though). Surfshark is the cheapest trustworthy alternative but NordVPN is almost as cheap if you buy it long-term and frankly it's literally the best in all categories other than raw speed (it's high in that though) and the fact that ExpressVPN goes a level further in physically wiping discs and having regularly updated servers. They are equal in my eyes and Express has these deluxe things to charge you waaaay more money but I concede that it genuinely is top tier in trustworthiness and functionality.

In short, if you're gonna pay I recommend NordVPN or ExpressVPN. SurfShark and HSS are options too, the former for budget and the latter for nobility as it helps fund its Free VPN project. I warn you that the paid HSS lacks in quite a few ways excluding speed, when compared to the other 3 but I can't deny that it's trustworthy.

Just so I don't get accused of Libel, HSS paid customers don't have their activites logged or in any way sold. The logs are deleted at the end of each session (whereas the other three I recommended claim to delete as you go along, not just at the end of your session on the VPN). This is genuine to no-logs and doesn't mean that HSS free version admitting it anonymously logs for advertising purposes is a claim against the paid version.

I switch my laptop on and it works just fine....Nothing else required.

A niche provider is just a niche provider just trying to sell you niche provision.

And if you don't understand the word niche, use your browser and check out the definition and you will probably get exactly the same result as I would.

no you dont-not even close.
Without punctuation.

And with hyphenation.

Is this an explanation?

Or a ridiculous situation?

Babbling common sense... Rather than mono-syllabic, non-explanatory opinions.
