The usage of green coins is solely one of assisting your prominence in the forums. It will help significantly if the site had a self-sufficient currency for those that particularly get things going in the forums.

There could be another currency that lets you get cool profile aesthetics such as a background, unique font and much more. This could be tied to donations and/or debate rating, medals etc.

Yeah, the privileges can be established with pay-only things that don't help your winrate as a debater, definitely that's acceptable business model in my eyes. A gaming company named Riot Games engineered this pay model in their original game League of Legends and it works very well in other web environments too.

There will be a mechanism to earn those coins on site, I think that's a good idea but first I need to finish the redesign of the site and add more things to spend those coins on.

At the moment those can be used only on the forum, specifically to highlight your posts or push the topic to the top of the list for 24 hours.
