The reason I think Arts should be funded more than sports is that the arts are more important skills than sports. If you are good at Football, then great, you are a footballer, maybe a campus player, maybe an MVP, what matters? Knowing how to play football has a very narrow area of its application. Now let's say what about drawing? You could become a painter, a designer, a workshop craftsman, a graphic designer, a house planner... These two examples would prove that sports have narrower applications than some of the arts.

I am not saying being conservative is bad, I am just saying that you are really conservative.

Also, why do you prefer the sports from the arts?

I dont think schools should fund either. Let people pay for equipment and have them after school. An introduction course of sorts.  Focus more on job introductions and opportunities.

Then you are agreeing with the claim, because then the school should fund sports and arts equally, which is both $0.

Sports are nice in that they create structured cooperation and teamwork, which is more preparation for life than many classes. That said, sports are not the most efficient way to do it, and art should be funded to a much greater extent than they are. It would also help if teachers were paid more.

Sports benefit you physically. Art doesn't necessarily benefit you.

Schools shouldn't  fund either of them. You are there to learn to read, write, do math and possibly learn some skill that will allow you to earn a living. Color, play musical instruments and play games on your own time and your own dime.

Look, I am not gonna be the stereotypical office worker that complains about friday every single damn week because I am not and I don't wanna be. School system is not meant to morph every single person into the same standards and should never be.

Why not? There are things in life every single person has to know to be able to earn money and support themselves. That is what schools are supposed to be for. Not cater to individual whims and desires.

Schools are made for the education and well-being of the kids, not to make them whimper everyday being forced to sqeeze knowledge in. There are people who wants sports and arts. I understand that it shouldn't always be mandatory, but GOOD GOD you can't just delete it.

They deleted shop class and Home economics. Two far more useful and necessary classes. They actually taught things in those classes that every single person on earth needs to know. But we cant teach things to kids that they need to know to literally survive. We have to teach them useless crap like how to play the flute of which 99.999% will never play again  in their life. Or how to make a ugly ass clay coffee cup that no one will use. And then we will award them with participation trophies or ribbons for trying and failing.
Every single thing I learned in shop class I use nearly every single day. Shop class taught me more about how to live and succeed than all the other classes combined in my entire time in school. That one class by itself. That class and what I learned has literally saved me tens of thousands of dollars in my life time by not paying other people to do things I can do myself because of the skills I learned in that class.

Well I agree with you. But if those two subjects are still there, then sports and arts should not be defunded.

The two subjects are not still there. Sports and arts need to be deleted and Shop and home economics need to be brought back. These classes teach real world, useful, absolute need skills. No one needs art and no one needs to play sports.

You might be pretty incorrect by saying that, because ELA, English class, is ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS. You are implying that in your world, all people are mute and illiterate.

Yeah, no one need art. Having fun watching kids wanting to start up a business but can't even write a check properly.

Really? You think I am including learning to read and write as a form of "art"? Don't be so willfully and intellectually dishonest. You and everyone else knows what the hell I am talking about.
