DO NOT let the default of english voice and no subs be what you watch it as (the voices are cringe af). Watch with spanish voice and eng subs. It's phenomenally directed and performed.

AD is extremely funny, archer is a drama series. I'm not sure you can compare the two but I haven't seen archer to comment.

I'm saying the likes of Family Guy and American Dad are completely stupid.
I will admit that Futurama and Simpsons have some very intelligent jokes at times but it's too infrequent to stimulate me.

Ongoing shows that I'll make a point to stay kept up on would be Westworld, Preacher, Doctor Who, and Atlanta. Dramas worthy of rewatches include Lost, Mad Men, the first few seasons of Shameless (can't pinpoint where it got bad) and the first four seasons of Game of Thrones (can precisely pinpoint where it got bad lol).

If I had to pick an all time 100% awesome A+ #1 TV show, it would be...
2018 "Maniac" TV series (on Netflix) - Two strangers are drawn to a mysterious pharmaceutical trial that will, they're assured, with no complications or side-effects whatsoever, solve all of their problems, permanently.
I believe it is better to go into this show completely cold, with no knowledge of reviews or synopsis.
Another example of one of my all time favorite TV shows is the 2006-2007 ABC series "Day Break" - Today Detective Brett Hopper will be accused of shooting state attorney Alberto Garza. He will offer his rock solid alibi. He will realize he's been framed. And he will run.
I believe it is better to go into this show completely cold, with no knowledge of reviews or synopsis.
Other shows in no particular order, 2002 "The Wire", 2015 "The Expanse", 2003 "Carnivale", 2007 "The Tudors", 2004 "Deadwood", 2005 "My Name Is Earl", 2003 "Arrested Development", 2009 "Better Off Ted", 1995 "The Maxx", and the 2014 FX series "Fargo" is awe inspiring.

I like the survivor reality shows.....Survivor Man, Alone, Dual Survivor, Naked and Afraid and Live Free or Die is a good one.
Have you seen the 2003 movie "Touching the Void"?
Also, the TV shows, 2009 "The Colony" and the 2005 "I Shouldn't Be Alive" seem like shows you might enjoy.

I've watched quite a bit of (2004) "Survivor Man" and sampled some of the other shows you mentioned.
"Touching the Void" is my favorite example of this style of story telling.
naked and afraid (similar) lots of stuff on discovery and history, forged in fire I enjoy, there's a bunch to be sure.
Generation Kill had a good mix of witty and raunchy humor. It was also a faithful depiction of real world events.

The Haunting of Hill House is pretty good. I think some people have been overstating how scary it is, because it really isn't at all, save the end of episode five, which was pretty disturbing. Mainly it's just depressing. And none of it really makes sense (six episodes in). They seem like they could be a real family, the way that they interact with each other and the way that they look. My favorite character is probably Luke.

"Day Break" was very good. And you're right, the less you know going in, the more you'll enjoy the show. It's one of those shows that leave you bummed when it ends.
Touching the Void was gripping story telling. You cared what happened and felt exhausted at the end. I forgot I was watching a movie.
I like political drama like West Wing, Mayor, and Madam Secretary, but liberal bias always seem to creep in and spoil those shows

You might like the 1990 BBC television show "House of Cards".
Not the new American version also called "House of Cards".
The BBC version is also on Netflix, I watched through it recently and really enjoyed the twisting and turning of the characters in the story.

Breaking Bad is awesome. Not gonna lie, though: I did not expect Walter White to be such a mild-mannered and physically unimposing person at the show's beginning, which I'm guessing was the whole point.
