any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
please point to any politician who advocates for public ownership of the means of production. I'll wait..... You aren't going to find any because they don't exist. The idea that the left are socialists is a bad joke.

any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
Basically: Any economic or political theories advocating collective (In this case, by the people) or governmental ownership and administration of producing and distributing goods.

Basically, the people control everything. Equality, equity.

Got this off the wiki page.

"radical democracy that places people's lives under their own control", a "non-racist, classless, feminist, socialist society" in which "the people own and control the means of production and distribution through democratically-controlled public agencies, cooperatives, or other collective groups"; "full employment is realized for everyone who wants to work"

Basically saying again, everyone is equal

A dead one. The climate is always changing, and resources are not static in scarcity, so you need unequal people to keep the human race alive through these times. The Law of natural selection requires diversity and inequality for a species to survive.

Capitalism rewards inequality. If you work your ass off more than someone else and you provide something useful for the human race, you get a reward, even if it's something as trivial as an iPhone.

You have absolutely no way of knowing that.
Of knowing what?
If or not  the Iraqis may have been in on it.

That they didn't use to get along? Iraq and Iran have been historical enemies,

That's correct Einstein. They fought a ten years war with each other costing the lives of estimates 2,000,000. And have a guess who was helping the Iraqis with intelligence, saving the lives of hundreds of thousands?

But America is doing a great job pushing them together.
(A) But isn't that what you want;  world peace and harmony in the Middle East and everyone getting along swimmingly  without Western interference?

America has spent trillions of dollars and countless lives destroying Iraq.

Yes and Obama king of the Untied States tried to bribe Iran with a $$$$$$$150 billion payoff not to build a nuclear bomb to blow us all up. In the Islamic world that is known as non - Muslims paying Jizya to  Muslims in order for them not to kill you.

But what america is doing to pushing Iraq further and further into the arms of Iran
See (A) above.

as the US treats the Iraqi government like shit in their own country.

Lets see your evidence for that. Trump, I believe, would rather not be there. The Kurd and the Sunni want America to stay until the commitments  are complete-if not longer.  I would like to see the shitholes of that part of the world look after themselves , but they never have been able to without effecting other parts of the world, and of course Western monetary aid and assistance, You still  haven't told me if we should stop this charity?

I believe Britain at least, should stop all overseas aid. and invest all of our charity in the ever growing number of homelessness and the ever growing number of food banks that we have here, at home.. What about you HistoryBuff?    Should Trump demand that it return the $$$ 150 billion given to Iran as protection( not to build a bomb to kill us with) some of which was  given over to Iranian General Qasim Soleimani  to spend on terrorism around the world ?

That would make the entire Iraq war a 100% failure.

It will if the Americans are expelled. I would like Trump to take this opportunity and use it to his advantage. The non binding expulsion order could be a blessing in disguise. who knows.

What do you expect out of liberals and especially millennial liberals. Logic and reasoning? Phhffftttt

Instead of pig ignorance and continuous denial, common sense and a bit of honesty would be a good start.

Doesn’t Bernie Sanders self identify as a socialist?

Also, no current politician is pure socialist, but wouldn’t you say nationalizing industries is a socialist concept? For example, universal healthcare seems to be a socialist policy. That is a fairly mainstream view for Democrats now, too.

democratic socialist (although he is really more of a social democrat). But those are very different from a socialist.

Not inherently, no. Is it a socialist policy to nationalize the police, military, fire fighters, prisons etc. All of these things are run by the government because it is in the national interest that the government do so. Nobody bats an eye.

It is not a socialist policy.

It's amazing how much party drives political decision.  If Trump came out in favor of Roe V Wade for instance, then the GOP would become pro choice.  I try to find something consistent.

On being involved with the middle east, lets pull out entirely, then the middle east would respect us more and bad groups in the middle east would be less likely to form.  Trump pulling out of Kurdistan I support.  Trump declaring war on Iran by killing a general of theirs (who was on a peace mission), that's something he shouldn't have done.  War is expensive, it certainly isn't pro life, our nation building efforts have degraded, and we have a debt that has to get paid off.  If Russia helps out Kurdistan, that's fine, let Russia go into debt.  But America should pull out of the middle east.  Trump was good on pulling out of Kurdistan, but not out of Iraq and Iran.

I don't believe "Trump" i.e America, is in Iran Alec. Let me just  have a quick check on that, Alec.  No.  America is not in Iran.
So that,  at least,  is a country  he doesn't have to pull out of.

You have to remember Trump didn't put the USA there in the first place. He inherited this fkn mess and now is obligated to deal with it. And good luck to him and god bless him.

He can deal with it by pulling out of the country.  Then American ideals will gradually become more popular worldwide since they would see America as a country other than a bully.

And good luck to him and god bless him.
Trump needs a big blessing to be a good president and to win in 2020.  I hope he doesn't get it since he doesn't deserve it.  Trump has increased the US debt by trillions.  Granted, so has Obama, but we need someone other than a democrat or Republican in office.

While I would like a financially conservative libertarian to come out of the woodwork and win, it just won't happen :(

I could argue that the police, military, etc are a socialist institution. I would say they are 100% necessary to be government-owned because they are a public good. Hard to charge fees for military action, so taxes are the only way to go.

Nationalized healthcare, regardless of whether it is a good idea or not, is not something that every government needs to provide.

Just as a Liberal supporter in Texas isn't voting for Ted Cruz even though he's most likely to win, I don't need to vote for either of the 2 parties.  If Trump or Bernie doesn't reduce the debt, I have no reason to vote for them.  Bill Weld, as much as I despise his abortion position, is the candidate that's most likely to eliminate the debt.  At least abortion is falling.  Our debt isin't.  Therefore, I'm probably voting for Bill Weld.

Yeah, saying that financial concerns are more important than life is exactly what the pro-abortion people say. "I can't afford a child, so I'll get an abortion".
