I'd try to pass the buck off to someone I think would be more competent.
If that isn't possible, I'd probably just trust everybody to know how to do their jobs while at the same time keeping an eye on things. Survival would be a top priority. Peace on the colony would be too.

Mars would be an earth dependency. Mars wouldn’t have the technology to send an asteroid at Earth and they wouldn’t want to destroy the hand that feeds them.
