I have a friend who's similar to you in a lot of ways. You just dropped two memes in a row on me that are exclusive to the friend group he and I are in (making fun of my ability, rather lack thereof, to do math, then underwater basket weaver was a nickname for a D&D character I made that wasnt super useful).

The issue isn't legality or illegality, but whether grounding someone over the age of 18 or 21 should be done in the first instance. When you're talking about issues of legality, that implicates considerations far beyond the more basic question of whether something ought to happen or ought not to happen.
As well, the issue of whether something ought or ought not to happen is one of individual or familial choice; rather than one of societal import (as framing from the perspective of legality or illegality would implicate).

That would assume I've finished undergrad. Which I haven't. And they've made it clear that if I go back to finish school they want me to live at home. Tbf, their reasons for that are pretty valid - school and I don't have the best track record.
