I just surrendered and gave my number. Discord is basically the only way left to PM people I wanna stay in contact with online that works both on a phone and computer and isn't fucking Skype.
Skype is owned by Microsoft, all your data is sold to the Illuminati regularly and IP leaks on skype are a real thing, never trust that shit.
Google Hangouts are dead. G+ is defunct, you reveal your real email with every new contact you make on it now, pretty much and if not yet, it's only a matter of time until that happens. Also, due to G+ dying out, less people use the Hangouts, which makes it a defunct means to chat to strangers and friends online anyway.
FB IM is literally dox-worthy in how it forces you to reveal your real info, same with Twitter.
Thus, it's worth to sacrifice my privacy with Discord. The most I believe they will do is sell my usage data to gaming companies or their tech team, which is totally fair enough. As long as you keep your head down, Discord respects your privacy.
