I am more mature than I once was and presumably less mature than I shall one day become.

I would however like to abdicate this nomination. For one thing my activity on the site while fairly regular at the moment is actually quite spotty and I am liable to dissapear for weeks or even  months if I get bored.

They will be neither. They are entirely unofficial. But if the practical result of people running for positions that don't exist and which have no formal authority is that they then pledge to help out on the site, I am all for it. Communities often have informal, unofficial leaders, and that's what I see these secretariats as being.
