I'm undecided about how to type the abbreviation. Obviously this is a huge issue that demands its own thread. Huge. Whether we succeed or fail as a forum depends on what we decide, here, today, in this topic. Think about how you will be remembered by posterity. Do you want your children to know you as the person who advocated for what turns out to be the unpopular abbreviation? Don't bring that shame on them.
DART, Dart, or DArt?

"DA" is sufficient.

"DA" is sufficient.
Some people do use that. Personally I think DART is cooler. DA is kind of generic.

I do not understand the logic in using “DART”.
To explain: Debate.Org is referred to as “DDO” — and this is because it is common to shorten names and titles. However, one would normally use single letters for each word in the name or title.
“DART” makes no sense as it attempts to conjoin a letter with the second part of a title, as opposed to shortening the title by exclusively using the first letters to both, or all, parts of it.
This is what an abbreviation is.

This is what's been occupying my thoughts on the matter. Do we go logical or do we go snazzy. It wouldn't be the first abbreviation to warp the rules to achieve a better sounding name.

Totally. That's why I've been using it.

Im still thinking it should just be DA
Seriously, no one likes DDC? I'm not going for what is proper, but it has a nice ring to it. It rolls off the tongue as easy as DDO did. Not to be mean but DART sounds kinda dumb. I'll go with the majority vote but DDC sounds good...."Debateart Dot Com".
The site's icon is literally DA.
I'd prefer to not associate this site with DeviantArt, so I'm for the longer, but more specific, DART abbreviation.

@EtrnlVw
DDO actually used to be called DDC, back when the web address of the site used to be www.debate.com, so DDC isn't a great option for this new site I think.

@Subutai
I don't know how using DART (D-Art) would help us distinguish ourselves from Deviant Art.

I was talking to the people that want to call this site DA.

@Subutai
Yeah. I'm just saying I don't know how using ART in the abbreviation helps distinguish us from an art site with Art in the name.
DART is how I have it bookmarked, so that...

Unless deviant art is used by everyone here, there shouldn't be ambiguity when using terms like DA or DART with other websites.
