The Irish Republican Army was a paramilitary group that fought against the British invaders. Were their acts justified based on Britain's maltreatment of the Irish, or did they go too far?
Was the IRA(Irish Republican Army) justified in The Troubles?

I have a couple of suggestions. If you can, clarify the point in contention so that people can say...differentiate between the conflict and the means, targeting areas with bystanders, picking your friend's nose, etc... When you say "did they go to far" that would seem to point towards some question of proportionality like president Trump would have had to consider as head of the armed forces when the Assad regime was terrorizing civilians with chemical WMD's. Another problem you have is 100 years of history (to my knowledge) associated with the IRA.

He killed 100,000 of them so Assad wouldn't have as many to kill.Three cheers for muuuuurika.

@Snoopy
Well the IRA used guerilla tactics and bombs to make the British leave their country. The British occupied Ireland, gave them no representation, etc. I'm discussing the provisional IRA, which is the IRA only during The Troubles.

@Snoopy
Assad regime was terrorizing civilians with chemical WMD's.
And wrong, 2013 chemical attack was confirmed by rebels
-->
@Dr.Franklin
2013 is during Barack Obama's presidency...

I was referring to this quote
Assad regime was terrorizing civilians with chemical WMD's.
That never happened
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. has no evidence to confirm reports from aid groups and others that the Syrian government has used the deadly chemical sarin on its citizens, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Friday.
“We have other reports from the battlefield from people who claim it’s been used,” Mattis told reporters at the Pentagon. “We do not have evidence of it.”
He said he was not rebutting the reports.
“We’re looking for evidence of it, since clearly we are dealing with the Assad regime that has used denial and deceit to hide their outlaw actions,” Mattis said.

You were taking my quote out of context for some stupid reason.

@Snoopy
Well, then I said

@Dr.Franklin
Yeah, we knew that, didn't we?
-->
@Snoopy
So how am I taking it out of context?
-->
@Dr.Franklin
