Ben Shapiro is interviewed by Andrew Neil.

Some people are touting this as "Andrew Neil demolishes Ben Shapiro".

But the more I watch this, the better Ben looks.  I think his only "crime" is being unprepared for the interview.

My guess is that Ben is justifiably overconfident.

There are some very fine people on both sides.

Check out this sharp analysis from a fellow journalist's perspective. [LINK]

The rhetorical tactics seem to be typical of what you've likely already encountered on this site.

Ben Shapiro thinks he is smart which is all that is needed to be over-confident. Something to be confident about even if it is delusion.

Whether it be how unintelligent he is at Religion.
How unintelligent he is at climate change.
How unintelligent he is at what would help increase wages.
How unintelligent he is a trans-gender related topics.
How unintelligent he is at foreign policy.
More but I'll leave it at that. If you want links I'll give more.

Listen to these retarded questions.

If an interviewer is going to bombard someone with "how many times do you beat your wife" type questions prefacing each question with a bunch of nonsense accusations, you expect people to react poorly.

And people wonder why the media is not to be trusted...

Honestly why do people watch these rigged interviews just for the sake of watching a person's reaction to bad questions? You might as well watch milkshake throwing videos. You would learn just as much about a person from either or.

Ben very deftly deflected the unfair quotes and questions.

What makes Ben look bad is when he says, twice, (I'm paraphrasing here) "I'm famous and popular and you're not".

And when Ben leaps to the conclusion that Andrew is in favor of "late term abortions" while completely dodging the opening question regarding Alabama criminalizing miscarriage.

Here is an example of an interviewer that does not preface every question with a baseless accusation.

Who cares if Ben reacted badly to accusations? (like it wasn't predictable)

We learned as much about Ben as we would if the interviewer just threw a milkshake on him and recorded his reaction. That's not how you should learn about what people are. People are far more complex than a singular reaction.

My point was that Ben DID NOT react badly to the cherry picked quotes and traps.  He handled those quite nicely.
