I post a bunch of debates and RM eats them up like a wild hog, most of the rest of you just spend your time engaging in pointless banter in the forums.
Why do half of you losers post in the forums and never debate?

Crazy attracts crazy.
Personally I'm avoiding your debates because, frankly, you don't debate well. Your formatting needs improvement and you too readily delve into insults and derogatory comments.

When people anticipate a low standard of debate they are not incentivized to engage. In the case of your debates, I think that may be a factor.
Activities you don't personally enjoy are not pointless activities. If you want to judge our time here by tangible productive output, then everything we do on this site is pointless. Your formal debates don't count for anything IRL. People are here simply for stimulation and enjoyment. Some people enjoy the debates, some people enjoy the forums.
Personally I prefer the less restrictive and more open and informal environment of the forums. Formal debates represent a commitment I'm usually too lazy to make, though I do read many of them.

I'm the hog? I'm the hog?????????????
You're serving me your losses on a platter and I'm the prey?
Give me wins boy and give them fast.

Debating panders to economic sophistry. Forums do not.

It could be a matter of time/flexibility and what you consider "debate". Debating can be formal or informal and even exist in casual discussions. Sure there's pointless banter too, but there's also people engaging in discussions in a way where it's more accessible and approachable than a formal debate, more flexibility in structure and personal time. The open forums and causal discussions will always be more popular than formal debates, give the site some time though many people are still warming up to the changes.

Because I don't want an obligation to something that has a time limit, I have other shit to do.
If we didn't have to post arguments on the weekend, I'd be more than happy to have one a week, but I'm either drunk or hungover when it's my turn and it turns into an annoyance to have to report to a meaningless debate site during my free time.
However I do want to have the debates we were talking about at some point with you, socialism and whatever else lol
Some of us have jobs and businesses that take up massive amounts of our time thus not being able to devote hours of time on debates that pay nothing. Well at least that is the case for me. I'm here more to gather opinions on topics to get different points of view then use those combined with critical thinking skills to see if in fact those views and opinions could work in the real world. Most won't, but not all. I have had my mind changed on a few things. Not many, but a few.

The forums are a great way to hone your skill and explore possible topics for debate.

I agree with you all, guys. Forums are more popular than debates.
Il Diavolo
Votes on debates just get deleted so who cares.
Don't have time.
I’ll debate you, Mharman. You forfeit a lot but you’re capable of making a cogent arg which is rare enough. I’ve played mafia w/ u on DDO but i don’t think we’ve ever debated. We were on opposite sides on the California misgender law topic & I think we disagree on plenty of politics. I was thinking about an anti-bravehwart debate or space colonization but I’m prettty flex- I’ll even instigate if u want

Most of the debates that are open challenge aren't really all that good.
