I think that BSH1 just needs to learn to set his personal biases aside because Castin's modding philosophy differs enough from him and virtuous that the people who are "special cases" are having to behave by different standards than the rest of the site in order to not get banned.

I am well aware of my violations. When I am told I can't use tard and I am banned for it and Dr. Franklin who uses it is banned. But her friend gets to use it, it's bull shit. Every flagged post is marked reviewed so they know the cock head is doing it.

If bans are too severe - you end up removing all the conflict that makes people post - and prevents people from staying.To consider whether bsh is doing a good job walking this line: in this thread, he has been criticized for being too lax and not lax enough. I think that’s a good indication he’s walking the fine line - and thus being hated on by both sides of it.

I have banned ardent liberals (e.g. disgusted) and ardent conservatives (e.g. Dr.Franklin), and have banned theists (e.g. Mopac) and atheists (e.g. Goldtop) alike. I do not give any users preferential treatment on the basis of their relationship with me, or any political or religious beliefs they might hold.

Your lack of self awareness is not my problem.
Of course, I can't speak for the people working to keep this website running smoothly. I would assume moderation views this kind of issue as a minor infraction, not that needless insults and slurs are something for everyone to take lightly. Therefore, a discrepancy can easily result from the amount of reports sent to moderation and the amount of reports cumulatively acted upon or otherwise taken in context, and ultimately being banned. It may be the last straw though I doubt anyone in particular is banned just for saying "tard".
