Bernie Sanders said it could be paid for with a .5% tax on stocks and a .1% tax on bonds. I don't think these taxes will raise that much revenue.
Should we have free college

..."There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" (alternatively, "There is no such thing as a free lunch" or other variants) is a popular adage communicating the idea that it is impossible to get something for nothing. The acronyms TANSTAAFL,"...
It is obvious set of complexities ---via rational, logical common sense-- as to how and who pays for the free lunch.
However, there are limits and those limits are related to;
1} the population of humans on Earth,
2} there standard of living,
3} their agreement to survive, or not, in the longest reasonable time frames,
4} empathy and consideration of a Unified humanity,
5} and the operating systems in place to manifiest energy { btu's } for the chosen standard of living,
6} ?
No. I think apprentice programs should be brought back where you are trained under someone who works in the field. Not just laborers. Not everyone needs a degree.

Is that cheaper than college? If that happens, I am worried that due to the mass influx of tradesmen, it would cause their wages to plummet. We can't have any industry receive too many workers otherwise their wages would plummet.
Abolish minimum wage so teens can have something better to do with their lives than playing xbox or getting drunk on a free college campus.
Investing in yourself requires effort, not free stuffs.
Oh and opportunity. Like working below a living wage so that you can pay for the skills you learn on the job. That's a much better alternative to going into financial debt to invest in yourself.

Tradesmen need competition to remain competent. You don't want to have near zero choices when you are looking for services.
Absolutely not. The cost of college would continue to skyrocket (which tax payers would be on the hook for whether they go to college or not) while people get useless degrees on other people's dime. Oh, and it's an illegitimate function of government in addition to impractical.
Abolish minimum wage
Like a good conservitard you demand a return to slavery. Huzzah.

No,no and no, revenue yeah right , Bernie Sanders tax plan would revenue 7 billion dollars in 2 months. The government spends that in 7 MINUTES!!!!. Who actually thinks any of the Democrat's plans would generate revenue to the government. Libtards like disgusted do, who is so bad at debating politics,he had to steal the other side's jokes

@disgusted

Tradesmen need competition to remain competent.
They already have competition. But too much competition is a bad thing for the tradesmen. Competition is good in moderation.

@disgusted
abolish minimun wage= slaverly
Read a history book and you would know that Republicans were the abolonists. But of course,some people don't graduate middle school.
Minimum wage is a destruction of opportunity to freely choose what you want to do with your labor. Less freedom is more slavery.
Minimum wage is as bad as labor union monopolies that abolish freedom to work laws.

@Greyparrot
If we want to abolish the minimum wage, we need a good alternative for poor people to make money. I was thinking the strong ones could be construction workers. Those companies need help with making projects. I'm sure they could hire poor people at a good wage to work those jobs. This causes the demand for McDonald workers to plummet, producing higher wages.

Big Universities are not too big to fail. Yank the subsidies and protections. Allow students to declare bankruptcy. No more government handouts or government loans. Let's see if the tuitions stay at 100k a year.
If you are industrious enough to study hard enough to get a scholarship, you are also industrious enough to work your way through school.

@Alec
Poor people don't need shitty dead end jobs like McDonalds, they need opportunities to gain valuable job skills by working for less pay in return for job skill training.
Union monopolies do NOT want that kind of competition, so they abolish right to work laws and enforce minimum wage to make sure the poor stays under the table feasting on the scraps the government allows them to have...but never a chance to sit at the table through opportunities for self improvement.
-->
@Greyparrot
Poor people should get better jobs. Any ideas?
-->
@Alec
Competition is good in moderation.
Restricting competition hurts all of society. There's no such thing as too much competition. It is the only mechanism society has to improve life in a chaotic universe.
-->
@Alec
Poor people should have the opportunity to learn the skills to improve the value of their labor.
Getting a dead end job won't cut it, historically it never did and it never will.

What is a dead end job?
