The official Twitter account of the Auschwitz Memorial weighed in on a thread that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez began Tuesday, in which users argued about the definition of "concentration camp."
They also asked some members of the media to "consider following" them to learn more about the horrors of Auschwitz.

Addressing a back-and-forth that took place under the Ocasio-Cortez tweet, the Memorial said, "The history of Auschwitz is far more complicated than this as it combined two functions: a concentration camp and from March 1942 an extermination center.
Is AOC out of line calling the detention centers concentration camps? Do you think Auschwitz is trying to own the term? Would the Japanese camps from the 40's be concentration camps as well? If there a difference in that and the incarceration of illegals to the US?
