If everybody had guns, I think people would be more polite.

Since you are alluding to the broader aspects, which states do you think have impressive programs for crime prevention and intervention among youth?

Any ideas on school programs and community projects?

Policing Policy?

From the OP
  • An extreme risk protective order
  • Reinstating the one-gun-a-month law
  • Child access prevention
  • Requiring people to report lost and stolen firearms
These look interesting

The U.S.is as regressive as it is progressive.

The U.S. is still all about strutting it's stuff with a pair of six shooters strapped to it's hips.

The U.S. is the gung-ho Sherriff and his posse administering their self righteous justice to the rest of the World.

Worship of the gun and worship of god, a divine contradiction.

And if this is what you teach your kids, this is what they're going to grow up believing in.

What do you mean "still"?

I think our nation has lost its way in taking up the sustained military role in the post WWII era, now spanning multiple generations of experience.

The U.S. is the gung-ho Sherriff and his posse administering their self righteous justice to the rest of the World.

Worship of the gun and worship of god, a divine contradiction.

And if this is what you teach your kids, this is what they're going to grow up believing in.

I don't worship the gun by any stretch of the imagination, but I do live in Texas.

Come and take it.

  • There is none of that in the OP, the OP only contains a link.

If they ban all the guns, that means only a military with Donald Trump as commander in chief will have the guns.

You don't even believe in God, you are simply trying to exploit what you think are beliefs of others to gain a political advantage.

    Are you even an American?

No. I'm a citizen of Planet Earth.

Planet Earth is currently the only option isn't it?

And are Americans the only people allowed to express an opinion?

    And you believe in God.

But have you ever stopped to consider the reality of belief.

And what political advantage am I likely to be able to gain from this particular scenario?

Notwithstanding the fact that in a conventional sense I am probably about as apolitical as it is possible to be.

See, 1776 was about resisting the globalist empire, at the time represented by them globe trotting red coats. The very empire the sun never set.

The second amendment is in place so that the people can resist a tyrannical government should one ever take over.

And that is why we have guns, it is very much part of our culture. Even more so in Texas!

You should petition your government to voluntarily join the United States...or not. That's cool too.

How to make for a saner world.

1} unify humanity under common set of concerns and goals
....1a, 1b, 12, 1c etc that in turn lead to those concerns that are of the most immediate danger to humanity

2} unified humanity agrees to dismantle all hydrogen and nuclear weapons,

3 } unified humanity agrees to dismantle all toxic weapons,

4} unified humanity agrees to abolish all larger weapons,

5} unified humanity agrees to abolish all medium size  weapons,

6} unified humanity agrees to abolish all small weapons { firearms }.

A move in this direction is a move toward a saner world that all humans we will have to  have  the greatest confidence in the honest sincerity of those in authority who oversee those actions at each stage of becoming a more sane humanity.

All of your goals are impossible.  If you ban guns, people get them illegally.  No way are you going to convince a criminal to give up their guns.

  • Confiscating small arms isn't relevant anyway, since we are talking about the United States.
  • An extreme risk protective order
  • Reinstating the one-gun-a-month law
  • Child access prevention
  • Requiring people to report lost and stolen firearms
  • Here are some interesting proposals brought up for Virginia

    1776 was 1776.

Why keep living in the past all the time?

Ok. So we rely on old information to enable us to formulate new ideas. But a lot of the older stuff is now largely irrelevant.

Yeeeeeah.... see, if the last century has shown us anything, it is that tyranny in government is still something to be concerned with. That is the reason why the 2nd amendment is a thing.

You seem to have very little faith in the U.S.A. and it's people.

And do you think that in the unlikely event of some sort of tyrannical regime taking power that all those self righteous, gun toting, freedom fighters are all going to unite under the one flag?

And in the post tyrannical, social breakdown you're just as likely to be taking a bullet as the next man is.

My faith is certainly not in the politics of men. My faith is in Jesus Christ, and my part to play in whatever ends up happening is to be a peacemaker.

I am simply explaining to you the rationale behind our second amendment in America. That is, it is put there as a defense against tyranny, whether that tyranny comes in the form of government or bandits, pirates, and barbarians.

This right to bear arms being recognized as necessary for the security of a free state.
