Religious people often seem to be at odds with science because they believe it threatens their religion.
What I am wondering is, do you ever wish you lived in a world without science where your religion could flourish unimpeded?

My religion is doing just fine. Why would anyone want science gone when it's how everything works? They are not related in any way.
Orthodox Christianity is certainly not anti-science. If that was a thing, we would not have concepts such as gnosis or epignosis.
Besides that, when the barbarians plunged western Europe into the dark ages, the sciences flourished in eastern Europe where Orthodox Christianity was strong.
Western Europe didn't have its renaissance until after looting our libraries during the 4th crusade.
Even the sciences that flourished in the Muslim world can be credited to Christian influence.
Orthodox Christianity is an enlightened faith.

I've recently talked with an actual neuro surgeon aka brain surgeon who is very religious, many extremely educated people of science are also very religious.
then there's what @Polytheist-Witch which pretty much said all there is to say on the matter.

I'm sure if you asked most Orthodox Christians that question, they would say that is stupid.
I am sure you will get mixed opinions about whether or not evolution as it is taught or abiogenesis is in fact science, but the church itself is by no means anti-science. In fact, practicing our religion would make you as better science, because most of our discipline involves ridding oneself of passions and influences that keep us from being truly rational.

There are a lot of computer programmers at my church, and many who have doctorates. The idea that our religion is anti-intellectual or somehow at odds with science is ridiculous.
I blame the King James only, sola scriptura bible thumping protestant crowd for this impression.
This is not Orthodox Christianity by the way.

I find this question rather ironic. As I was told, the theory is historically significant in that it undermined an established school of thought. So long as people are honest with themselves, I don't see what harm comes about from such ambitions.

I see Christianity with science. Most branches of modern science were founded by Christians or deists. They wanted to understand the universe God made so you come at the problem from the wrong angel.

Absolutely not. I think science actually compliments God quite nicely. I think science is actually a spring board into further mind expansion if one is willing to go that route, and get over the idea that what their 5 senses perceive is all there is.

You have it somewhat backwards: the idea of god compliments science. Ever since the age of enlightenment, people have been neatly fitting gods into the gaps of our knowledge (derived through science). Seizures in the year 50 were demonic possessions. Now we know they're neurologically caused and in many cases, we have solutions (derived through science, not praying). People who still want to include the supernatural in that will tell you "Well, that's how the demons work, in your mind!" Just one example, it's something I know you're familiar with (god of the gaps), I won't belabor it.Absolutely not. I think science actually compliments God quite nicely. No, you are wrong. Men of science were Christians or deists who were trying to explain more of their existence to the glory of God. They identified with Christianity or deism and were trying to think God's thoughts after Him.
I am not lucky to be living in a secular society for there is no solid morays or values in such a system and no ultimate explanation for anything, thus you can't make sense of anything ultimately. Your limited mind is always grasping for the next "best" ideas on existence and meaning. You are at the mercy, way too often, of dictators and oligarchs who try to impose their relative shifting standards on others through force or emotional appeal rather than sound logic. There is no such thing as right and wrong in such systems but only preferences and feeling. Now in your country (the USA, I'm presuming) your Democrat party system of thought is trying to mimic socialist governments which never work and suppress individual freedom through massive and tax binding government. Everything becomes expendable to the State. The opposition is shut down, as witnessed on educational campuses and by news media and Hollywood based ideology. One of the last hopes of freedom is being put in danger by such stupidity of Democrats who fail to see the big picture. In the meantime, China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, build their military might and are neglected while these stupid Democrats change the focus and try to undermine your duly elected President.
