Quasi Dungeons and Dragons

Since Mafia is having a bit of a time getting off of the ground, I was thinking about alternate games to drum up activity (and potentially new users). A low-activity forum without special coding really isn't ideal for doing Dungeons and Dragons but... what the hay.

Basically here's how it works:

1. We'll do daily posting. Each day, I'll post a description of what's going on and the players each post a response. The next day I'll post a new description, incorporating the players' speech, action, and decisions.

2. I'll handle all dice rolling on my side and simply include the results in my descriptions (making this more role-playing instead of roll-playing on the part of the players).

3. Combat will be truncated and streamlined.

4. Roleplaying between PCs (player characters) is free-for-all, not limited to one-per-day. But to keep things in synch, not all player-player interactions may be incorporated when I post my daily descriptions.

To restate. The expected level of behavior will be at least 1-post per day. To keep things moving without being too drawn out, and given the nature of this forum, things will end up being simplified. Admittedly, this is experimental. It may not work, but I think if we all work together, we can do something fun.

This will be under 5e rules. I have all of the rulebooks so your options for character gen are wide open. No homebrew. We are starting at level 1.

Stats: Standard array. Take 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8 and put them toward any ability you want.

Races: Aarakocra, Aasimar, Bugbear, Deep Gnome, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Firbolg, Genasi, Gith, Gnome, Goblin, Goliath, Halfling, Half-Elf (+variant), Half-Orc, Hobgoblin, Human (+variant), Kenku, Kobold, Lizardfolk, Orc, Tabaxi, Tiefling, Tortle, Triton, Yuani-Ti Pureblood.

Classes: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Wizard, Warlock

No evil alignments.

I do not have any of the books in question. If I don't need them then I would be happy to play if you feel this is a problem then I will back out as gracefully as possible.

Under 5e, ok cool, I'll try to look up what the racial bonuses are myself to spare you the time in copying it

Don't worry about food or water. Not going to track that. Same with non-magical ammunition.

Adding this thread to favorites would probably be a good idea. I might always tag everyone in applicable posts.

Don't forget names and backgrounds.

Alignments are not really an issue as they don't factor into 5e that much, mechanically. The "No Evil Alignments" is probably better stated as "Don't be that guy." This is a coop game for the players, so please keep that in mind.

That's a tankish melee, a dps caster, and a support class, nice balance so far. Just to put out there, i mainly plan on focusing on trickery and persuasion type stuff 🔥🔥

Seems like we need a healer halforc cleric.

Half Orc cleric of Zud the indecisive god of making small descisions with certainty (myth has it that he takes on his followers indecision for them so that they can act with determination). A minor god to be sure. Female
