"A majority of Native Americans fought for the Confederacy, in part to protect slavery in Indian Territory, as well as a promise by the Confederate government that it would recognize an independent Native American country following the war's conclusion.[1]"

Can you believe it? Confederacy wanted to give real Americans their own country!

They needed war allies.

Can you believe Indians had a lot of slaves?

This thread needs to be deleted or the title needs to replace "civil war" with "the war of northern aggression"

Somebody taught me as a kid that the easiest way to remember who the good guys are in a war is that it's always the South. South vs North Vietnam, South vs North Korea and South vs North in the war of northern aggression.

It's just a pattern that always repeats and you will never find any exceptions for

The Native Americans were hoping to get their land back following the conclusion of the war.
